This is how Kogoro should be killed off now that he'll get a new voice actor

Kogoro dies trying to protect Conan at the end of the Okiya Subaru arc. The FBI immediately afterwards are able to help stop the BO (BO are the ones who shot Kogoro). Kogoro says a lot to Conan as his is rushed to a hospital by the FBI and once Ran and Eri are there he keeps Conan's secret (which he knows, considering he was shot by the BO) while keeping everything a secret (to protect Ran) but tries to be father-like towards Ran and apologize to Eri. And then he dies. It was too late.

Conan and Ran now live with Eri. For the next arc you can have Ran and Eri try to figure out Kogoro's death while Conan tries to figure out what to do after this tragedy and all of Ran's sadness and confusion. Kaito Kid can be the new character who will help in the fight against the BO, with him wanting to help because of both losing "dads" (Kid probably wouldn't know it isn't his dad) to this organization (or organizations?). And we continue from there.

Another idea could be an imposter Kogoro, which could explain the change in voice.

Btw, is it likely gosho would change the story due to this?  I wish it was   Kogoro was an integral part of the anime series for nearly 14 years now, it's not the same with him talking in a different voice.

I doubt they're going to do anything to acknowledge the change. Most of their audience probably won't even notice much.

Actually, a rather proper ending for a stupid detective is a case that Kogoro needs to solve all by himself. Conan isn't around and Kogoro needs to find all the clues and think of every solution. then the culprit killed him. or maybe a B.O. member.

Good premise, but I worry about Conan living with Eri and Ran. For starters, Eri isn't as fooled as Kogoro and Ran. I can also see her not allowing as many freedoms as Kogoro and Ran allowed Conan, due to her suspicions. Unless, of course, she becomes aware of the true situation and becomes an unlikely ally (meaning, that she won't rat him out to Ran). Also, it would be harder for Conan to come across cases when not living with a detective... unless, he went to live with another detective or perhaps a cop. Hmm...

Either way, the author isn't obligated to kill off Kogoro because the seiyuu is leaving - and I doubt he will. As much as I will probably dislike the new seiyuu in this role, I can't ignore the reality of the situation.

yeah true. Give it a break people. Just because there is a new VA doesn't mean it will be horrible. Go figure, maybe he will do a good job. Plus, if you come and watch his first episode and you say that he will do a bad job, in your mind he'll probably really do a bad job, but in reality maybe not. You should be a little bit more open minded about the whole thing and not decide from the start that it will be horrible.

Change is hard for people but they need to get used to it.

It's like saying "I don't know this guy but I hate him." how can you hate him if you don't even know him? "I never heard that guy but I know he'll do a bad job." He didn't even start yet but you are already against him and don't like him?

This is what I think will happen:

in one of the first episodes, Conan mentioned to Agasa that he should make a Shinichi robot to cover for him. Agasa blew him off, but secretly he's been working on it. However, when Kogoro is fatally wounded, he changes his plans to make it into a Kogoro robot instead, who he and Conan switch with the real Kogoro before anyone notices. Detective Kogoro will then team up with Conan and Goro-chan in order to take out the BO, with the help of his many robotic gadgets, like the kogoro-copter.

I'm not denying that if this was almost any other character, they could find a good or even excellent replacement. However, Kamiya is just TOO GOOD to find a good replacement for.
