Why do people hate the funimation subs

agasa's voice was very weird for me, they made him sound like you would expect a professor to sound, but whether that was good or bad depends on personal taste, but haibara's english voice was... just awful, at least to me

Anyway, CC has a mixed bag of a voice-cast compared to the Japanese voice-actors (inb4 "OH MY GOD THEY'RE CALLED SEIYUUS" or I shall smack someone with a fish), but they aren't absolutely horrible aside from Takagi's and Agasa's voices.   Most are either average or not too bad.  Compared to the company's recent dubs it's not that good but certainly not among the worst.

I must say, I think I am the only one who enjoys Agasa's accent that FUNi game him. They kept his original name and just gave him an odd accent, and I must say, it definitely shows how odd he can be with some of his inventions. But of course this is just my opinion so I'll go scurry off and hide in the corner now  8)

And on a side note, remember some of the accents that FUNi gave some of the characters from Yu Yu Hakusho? That's probably why I'm in support of FUNi's Agasa

Why did Blue Dragon basically replace Bleach for the cliched shonen example?

At least use an example that's good like Hunter X Hunter or something.

I don't know, I really can't stand Agasa's voice. Hearing him trying to explain the murder in the Gomera Murder Case was horrible... I had to rewind it a few times to understand what words he said. Check it out for yourself, the character's voice just does NOT work when you have to hear him for longer than a few minutes at a time.

That being said, there are some dub voices that I thought were really well done. For example, Richard Moore/Kogoro Mouri is probably the best voice of the dub. Inspector Megure's voice is great, too. He sounds like a typical police officer to me, and is pretty realistic. Takagi's voice sounds less like a big character and more like a one episode guest character. HOWEVER, Shiratori's english dub voice is actually incredible, one of the more underrated voices in the dub. Sonoko's english dub voice is just wayyyy too over the top, I cannot stand it at all. Like I said in another thread, Inspector Yokomizo sounds like he's making a gigantic bowel movement. Also not a fan of Heiji Hattori's english voice actor.

I love how anyone that even merely defends a licensing company is simply a fanboy or an executive in disguise when it comes to some anime forum sub-dub arguments.

How dare you defend the defenders!  You must be working for them, there's no other explanation!

I agree Kogorou's english voice was a lot better, it sounds a lot smoother, megure's voice was okay, but in my opinion they really screwed up the voices of the detective boys, does anyone else prefer calling them the junior detective league instead of the detective boys

Well, I wasn't saying that I preferred Kogoro's english voice over the japanese voice, just saying that I thought out of all of the dub voices, Kogoro's was the best. I agreed very much that the voices of the Detective Boys left a lot to be desired. Genta's voice was silly, and when it was changed later on to Mike McFarland, the guy who voices Master Roshi, it got even sillier. Mitsuhiko's voice isn't bad, though. I'm not too big of a fan of Ayumi's voice, though, which can sound really annoying.

Yeah lol they are actually called that, but you've got to admit, the Junior Detective League does sound a little better, especially considering one (and later two) members of the group aren't boys. Or maybe that's just me and that other guy up there^
