The next anime Heiji case is probably going to be

And also, of course it will, since that's the only unaired Heiji case at the moment.  I'd expect it by the end of the year, pending obscene amounts of AO cases.

Well obviously. The anime is really close to the manga at the moment. Gosho needs to understand that with great breaks, comes great responsebility come bad fillers.

Or maybe the manga is going to the end and Gosho told the studio that the anime can catch up with the manga...am I hoping too much?

maybe, but I don't feel bad about it. I try to picture myself 5 years for now (let's assume that Gosho intends to finish the manga in the twentith anniversery). What do I see? me, after finishing music school (and hopefully after also attending a college in the US) and having my novel published (again, hopefully). What doesn't fit into this picture? Conan. I can't believe that I'll be still watching Conan 5 years from now. My interests will obviously change, so I'd prefer Gosho to finish Conan while I'm still into animes. I do realize it's selfish though, but while people still want it to go on, there are people who want to see the ending, otherwise why would people start threads such as "How do you think it'll end?".
I don't want it to end, but as I said in another thread, I want it to have some more twists like Vermouth or maybe some development.

I don't think people's opinions randomly decide to suck for no reason after 5 years, Kor.  :P And Conan is too awesome to not like as long as the quality doesn't drop too much. (and I admit that if we are not pretty close to the ending in 5 years, the quality probably wouldn't be nearly as good as it is now)

Just because you may not be into anime or manga in the future doesn't mean you have to drop Conan. I'm a freshman in college now and the only anime/manga I still follow is Conan. I've been following it for roughly 6 years. And even though I fell out of the whole anime thing and have stopped watching other shows, I've still managed to keep on track with Conan. So you never know.

Obviously I don't mean that somehow in 5 years from now I'll suddenly out of the blue lose interest. I don't mean that now the manga is bad...just that I'd like to see something actually happens...
I remember watching DBGT (hebrew dubbed as I wasn't aware of the existence of YouTube at the time) and I thought it sucked, so eventually I lost interest and stopped watching that, but as you said, Conan is awesome so it can't be compared to DBGT. I'm still not bored from Conan so maybe I'm just thinking too much...
