It's from the same source that all Conan information in JP usually leaks from (who primarily posts under his ID on 2ch). Everyone has the right to be skeptical, but I think it's best if we all prepare ourselves for the worst--this guy has yet to be wrong. In quite a few years.

With the quality of some of these episodes lately, I'd imagine they're pulling some of their talent from the local soup kitchen.

maybe it's because I don't care but the only noticeably bad art was 522, 523 and certain things from 544 from what I remember.

but it certainly is worse than before and I do think it's hilarious how the art has gotten worse with LESS episodes per year. How the hell does that work?

Hopefully they'll be more careful picking a replacement for him than they did with Mitsuhiko's VA(it was a couple episodes around 430).  It was obvious then that they replaced the VA, since he sounded like a girl with the new VA.  But they either got the original VA back or the new one eventually got it right, since it sounded normal by 441.

I think it was a temporary thing since the new VA was only around for ten episodes before the original came back. So either she got sick or she was holding out and after ten episodes the begged her to come back...this is probably what's going to happen with Mouri also.

I really hope this isn't going to happen.
To be honest, at first I hated Kogorou's voice but now it's one of the things I look forward to everytime I watch the show.
He can't leave, it'd be too sad.  :'(

Veteran voice actor apologizes to fans, creator, cast members, staff

Veteran voice actor Akira Kamiya has announced on his official blog on Friday morning that he will no longer play the major role of Kogoro Mouri in the Detective Conan (Case Closed) anime series. He said that he cannot discuss the reasons and other details, but humbly acknowledged fault in this situation.

Kamiya then offered his apologies to all of the fans for this turn of fortune. He also offered his apologies to the manga creator Gosho Aoyama, lead voice actress Minami Takayama (Conan Edogawa), voice actress Wakana Yamazaki (Ran Mouri), voice actor Kenichi Ogata (Hiroshi Agasa), the other members of the cast, the staff of APU Studio, the YTV network, and the publisher Shogakukan. Kamiya has played the character of Kogoro, the private investigator who deals with the pint-sized Detective Conan and the father of Ran, since the anime launched in 1996.
