In this picture, Haibara auditions for the role of Maria in Umineko no naku koro ni (When the Seagulls cry) but she wasn't accepted because she wasn't creepy enough...  ;D (I'm probably the only one who watches this series...)

Yes that's her. You should watch it. though I think Higurashi is way better (Though there were only two arcs until now in Umineko so maybe it'll get better.)

I think it was a reference to the pairing wars. Ran was standing on the pier(?) in the direction Conan was heading, while Haibara was near the area but on the coast. It was suppose to be one of those "they are both waiting for him but who is he really showing up to meet"...but it was clearly Ran.

Or it was like she knows he'll show up at that place where Ran is waiting and she's just there to see his happiness at last  ^_^

It definitely might get better! I hadn't liked Higurashi that much at the beginning, until I watched the answer-arcs.
I can't wait to watch Umineko; I'm planning to do so right after I watch the last episode of Higurashi's Rei series. xD
