Most responsible parent?

Post by thriceplus »

In Detective Conan, Gosho shows many parents, each with different methods of parenting, but all still care deeply for their children. Which parent do you think is the most responsible?

it's so hard to tell.  they all do their best given, their circumstances i suppose.  haha.  the kudos left shinichi alone, but i suppose he was self sufficient enough.  although, yukiko is flighty.  kogoro is a drunk.  and eri, well, left ran alone with kogoro to further her career.  hondou couldn't help his job getting in the way, and he made sure to have a backup plan to keep his daugher alive.  although, his job is very dangerous.  the miyanos couldn't quite protect their daughters from the org.  so i chose heizo.  since well, i couldn't think of what he does wrong.  overall, i think they are all good enough.

Hondou. He could have chosen to continue his investigation of the BO, but instead he decided to protect his daughter.

Hattori Heizo, hands down. The Kudos pretty much abandoned Shinichi to himself (granted, a lot of manga/anime have "Disappearing Parents Syndrome"). Kogoru is not responsible AT ALL -- Ran takes care of HIM! Eri complains about her husband being incompetent, yet she left her daughter to stay with him (though it could be argued that she left Ran with him to take care of him -- and let's remember that Conan didn't even know who she was in the beginning. If Ran and he are good friends and her mother was around Ran on the regular, he would have recognized her surely). Obviously Ai's parents didn't do a good job considering they were a part of the Black Org. Hondou, while what he did for his daughter is honorable, dropped the ball somewhere. The Hattori's (counting Heiji's mom) have shown themselves to be the most stable parents out of all the ones listed.

I voted Kogorou... Because we know he would never put his family in harm's way, like perhaps involve them in a number of murder cases in which the villain could very easily seek revenge for the damage Mouri has done to them.

Yep.

I voted for Shinichi's mom. She always seems so nice and loving. Especially driving like 50 over the speed limit in New York.

I vote for Shinichi's parents.  Although they did abandon him,

*SPOILER*

they staged a kidnapping to make sure he could take care of himself.

Heizo Hattori~ Because he is actually with his son protecting him. He didn't want Heiji to become a detective because he knew it was dangerous but still... he didn't want his son to be taken out of what he likes.

Ayumi's parents?

anyways choosing from only all those irresponisble parents on the poll (i mean all), i'd say the one that comes closest to 'responsible' is Yukiko.

i mean:

Yukiko: abandoned her son and driving at high speed with kids in her car. But at least cares about her son the most out of all of them.

Yusaku: abandoned his son.

Kogoro: Drinks beer and watches TV all day and let's his daughter do all the housework, real responsible.

Eri: abandoned her daughter.

Heizo: used his son as bait to catch a criminal.

Hondou: you don't let your daughter get into such a dangerous organisation if ur a responsile parent.

Ai's parents: obviously not responsible.

with so many bad choices, I think the topic should be named "least irresponsible parent" instead  ;D

I have no idea who to pick, so I decided to choose Ethan Hondou. I think death can be a reasonable for bad parenting, especially since he died for their sake.
