Most likely the Ran/Shinichi fans don't feel like they need to add anything to the topic. All the evidence that they love each other is there, it's not like they have to argue their view like the Ai/Conan fans. Ran and Shinichi are good for each other but how long can Shinichi be happy with Ran when Ran doesn't understand his way of thinking? He has gotten frustrated with Ran before when she doesn't get him, but those results in just Middle School/ High School arguments, but what happens when they are older, could those petty fights turn into real ones where Shinichi starts to question Ran's intelligence?
And how long will Ran be satisfied in waiting for Shinichi when he runs off and going out of her way to "understand" how Shinichi feels about mystery? Can she keep it up for the rest of her life without feeling like she's always the one providing in the relationship and finally snaps and leaves like Eri?
I personally feel that they are too different to have a long marriage. They like each other and are happy to be around each other but that could fade eventually (marriage is a long thing) and end up like Mouri/Eri (to people who like each other but can't live together). Logically Haibara makes the most sense for Shinichi due to they have a common way of thinking and Haibara has the personality to withstand the months Shinichi isn't around (if he pursues something like Interpol or gets a real international case). Love eventually fades in marriages and them having many things in common with complementary personalities means that they can stand to be together after this happens giving a chance for the love to return.
Short- Ai/Conan isn't as straining to both individuals.
I don't think that Ran doesn't understand him (as in why he does what he does and what he's likely to do). From the Return and the Furinkazan cases, it seems Ran can understand and accept why he tries to keep her out of his investigations. She sees enough of Shin'ichi in Conan that she can anticipate when he's likely doing something risky. Ran also shares his moral code, while I don't remember evidence that Haibara has changed to the point that she'd go out of her way to save total strangers selflessly.
On the other hand, Haibara suits him because she can more effectively deal with his ego. Where Ran would just shift from quietly awed fan-girl to openly frustrated yelling, Haibara can stand up to him in a way that actually takes him down a peg (not that this makes her particularly attractive to him). However, I don't think that it would be fair for him to just dump Ran after stringing her along. Especially after we've been shown that she can be understanding (and happy) enough to play along while confident that Conan is really Shin'ichi. It would reward Haibara's meddling that undid that progress in the relationship (and Ran). Because of her past acceptance, it wouldn't make sense to dump her for her own sake even if he's stuck as Conan after the Org. is defeated, and unless the right people in the Org. are killed off but the Org. itself survives, it's too late for him to leave her to avoid drawing their attention toward the Mouris.
ETA: That's not to say I would mind scenarios where Ran dumps him for using her father as a puppet and putting his curiosity ahead of their lives (heh, but she'd forgive him anyway...). Or Ran dying because Shin'ichi couldn't choose between her and satisfying his curiosity about an Org. that exterminates people who might know of it.

I agree that Ran understands Shinichi's actions but that comes from her being around him for such a long time. There are episodes where Haibara has done the same, for example in The Return where she predicted that Shinichi would end up in the bathroom or other times where she successfully guessed what Shinichi was hiding. That understanding just comes from being around a person for an extend time to the point you have memorized their habits, somewhat like reading a book until you have it memorized.
The "understanding" I was talking about was understanding Shinichi's love for mystery and his way of thinking because of it. Like I said before, she herself, has stated that she doesn't get it and it only wears her out when she tries to get it. It's "cute" now when she goes out of her way to understand Shinichi but eventually the "cute" will run out and be replaced with frustration from both sides.
As for Haibara not sharing the same moral code as Shinichi/Ran, I think that's not that black and white. Haibara has shown to put herself in danger for those she cares about countless times which is why Conan has reached a point that he trusts her with his life. She also has shown kindness to animals but her past with the B.O. and personality won't allow her to trust any random person like Ran. In time she might get to that point but it's unrelasitic to ask anyone who has come in contact with the B.O. to trust naively like Ran does.

I can't believe I'm posting in this thread, ah well.
But Shinichi has been a detective freak since forever now...if she were to get sick of him she would have probably gotten sick of him already wouldn't she o.o? Given she seems to be in love with him since forever now, but still you can't stick around a guy that long if he makes you sick. Plus Sonoko would probably send Shinichi to a deserted island in the middle of the pacific if Shinichi is really making Ran upset.
Shinichi has a love of mysteries, and Ran has a love of....iunno Karate (?). You don't have to "get" everything about someone to have a relationship with that person or else detectives will only be able to date detectives and police officers will only be able to date police officers (yaoi pairings anyone xD?). Heiji and Kazuha is kinda like this too aren't they...Kazuha doesn't get why Heiji is always so obsessed with mysteries, but she loves him best when he's solving mysteries.
As for marriage Ran is patient as a snail and Shinichi isn't as stupid as Kogoro. We're still not sure 100% why Eri left Kogoro, but it's evident they love each other still...and they seem to have forgiven each other for a long time now.
With that said, I don't particularly care about the pairings. I think Ran and Shinichi are hilarious as childhood friends. She knows every embarrassing thing he has done since ever he was born and he's the only one who can make her angry without flying through a wall. Shinichi and Haibara are hillarious as friends as well. Haibara is so cool~ it annoys me greatly that she likes Shinichi xD.

I think there are too many examples where Ran's been suspicious of the wrong person to say Ran is that trusting. She's even been suspicious of the right strangers at least once (what comes to mind is the Italian gold robbers she threatened for rifling through the kids' bags in an early case, maybe too early for her characterization there to still count, though).
Beside the point, anyway. The contrast I was looking at is the Golden Apple case vs. the 12,000,000 Hostages case. From the former, we know that Ran will impulsively save someone she already knew was dangerous, leading to Shin'ichi's line about reason not being necessary when it comes to saving lives. From the latter, I'd expect Haibara would think a bit before saving any stranger if there's risk to herself in the process, and this was after she proved she would die for people she cares about, so there's nothing new to show she's changed her mind about that (unless I'm overlooking something else).
