The most correct way to write it is SatÅ

That actually confused me at first because when I listen to it, I hear it as "Satou" but I read "Sato" on the subtitles. So I checked, and it really was "Satou". Okay, so I'm kind of particular about romanization, so I accept "Satou" and "SatÅ

That depends on which languages you're used to. For example: for Scandinavians it sounds like a mix between Sato and Satå (the "o" is often pronounces the same way at "ou"/"o" in Japanese).
