Episodes 731-732 (Ex-Boyfriend Living Next to a Crime Scene(2/2)) Discussion Thread

The Chiba love story will forever be a waste of art materials. It is the emotional equivalent of animating a wall for the same amount of time.

About 7 and a half minutes in and I am considering this a story about Yumi finding the situation contrived.

You know, I have to admit I went into this case really dreading what would happen but this Shukichi guy is kinda fun so I'll hope they don't force Yumi into a relationship plot. I'd prefer to see her discuss with Sonoko how to best tease their best friends about their relationships.

Number of songs from 2007 soundtrack: 7

After seeing Conan's deducting skill in Optical Illusion Case, Sakurako no longer doubt him why such a elementary school student has such a great deduction skill anymore.

There is an explanation for the reason Yumi botching her ex-boyfriend's name which didn't appear on manga, wonder if Gosho...
Spoiler:
made him to be Sera's second brother and his real name is really Chuukichi instead of Shuukichi, then how do anime director explain that.

Spoiler:
No, it's obviously just an embarrassing nickname, just like he uses ‘Yumi-tan’ for her. ‘Chuu’ is the japanese onomatopoeia for a kiss, nothing more.
The possibility of people thinking things like that is exactly why we adapted the nickname in the first place -- people trying to make what's obviously just a really embarrassing nickname into something it really isn't.

Spoiler:
Why Shuukichi refused to tell police his alibi, because he was out for doing thing which hiding from Yumi or he believed Conan can solve a case, that's why he don't need to say.

Didn't Yumi say she don't want to see and hear from her ex-boyfriend ever again, then even her ex-boyfriend made a new girlfriend is nothing to do with her anymore, right?

In the end, how do Naeko know Shuukichi is Meijin, she knows that from Conan or Shuukichi telling her or sees it from newspaper or TV?

Well I would guess that the DB went and blabbered about it but it heavily suggests that Naeko just figured it out herself from the net

Well that ending just seemed silly. Is that a thing though? Looking through peepholes just to mess with people? Like...why?

I'm struggling to care much about this. Maybe it's this cold but I felt kinda indifferent towards this episode. I'm just glad it wasn't boring and worthless at least.

Shuukichi's glasses are absurdly huge and now I can't ignore them. They are clown glasses. I swear with every new glasses character the frames get bigger...

Loved to see Naeko and hear Sakura Tange again ;D
I really like Naeko character but I don't really have hopes with Chiba x Naeko boat.
