I won't write a novel, but... I will say this...

How can Kaito be better? Almost everything about Kaitou is taken from Lupin. Gosho just put a different spin on it (ie, hang glider, nonlethal gun, magician's twist, announcements). Oh and instead of a police officer who can stop him... In true Gosho fashion... the only person capable of actually preventing him from stealing IS A TEENAGER (Hakuba).

In Lupin vs Kid, Lupin wins. Even if Kaitou Kid DID beat Lupin to the punch... Here is what would happen. Jigen or Goemon would come out of nowhere. Either Jigen would shoot down Kaitou Kid's glider, or Goemon would clip his wings with his sword. Kaitou Kid would fall where any one of the four (most likely Fujiko) would be waiting to intercept, and take back what would be their prize. Kaitou Kid would try to fight bullets and swords with cards (doesn't take a genius to figure out the outcome of that battle). Most likely Jigen would shoot the gun and comment on how it was a toy as it shatters into a million pieces. Or he would try to use knock out gas, which he often carries in a can, but wait! Goemon would just cut the can in half and he and everyone else would just jump out of the way, while kaitou kid gets injured by the resulting depressurization of the can. They get away. No matter what, Kaitou kid loses. You know the saying "It takes a thief to catch a thief"? Well... I'm fairly certain that Lupin could catch Kaitou Kid easily.

After all... he did figure out who Conan really is. So it is not so far fetched to imagine that Lupin could figure out Kuroba Kaitou too.

Lupin > Kaitou Kid, end of story.

- The scene in the elevator (let's just say I'm glad nobody was around when I was watching that).
- The shower scene.
- The changing scene (where they made Ran look like an idiot; I mean, they made her act like that girl from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Mikuru?)
- Were there more scenes? I don't remember, but probably yes.

The 2 characters that I wanted so badly to watch weren't there (aka Haibara and Kid). Seriously, that wasn't even a "VS" since Conan and Lupin weren't like enemies or something. If, at least, there was Kaitou Kid, the "VS" thing would have made more sense.

i suppose i like kaito cause he different, he refuses to harm ANYONE and that cardgun won't do him any favors against lupin
but thats kina what i love 'bout him, his enemys are armed and experienced, he's not but he'll still take them on.
Lupin would win, logic says so (it might be wise not to have them face off, brings up soooooooooo many problems cause neither could actually win because that would cause,.....well if the fans of both sides had anything to do with it an apocolipse!and that just wouldn't do would it )

Lupin doesn't kill unless he or someone important to him is in a life threatening situation.

Kid doesn't get in life threatening situations. Because he is a wuss.

Now now, since when did this thread change into an anti-Kid topic? Did I miss something? I can understand that some of you love Lupin and think he's cool and better than Kid (it's your point of view and I respect it even though I don't share it at all), but why are you bashing Kid? Kaitou Kid has his own HUGE fanbase too, and many people prefer him over Lupin (including me). The few Lupin episodes I watched were a bit boring in my opinion (and so were the Lupin scenes in the DC special); yet I didn't want to share this opinion because I still enjoyed the whole thing (mostly because of the Conan and heck even Ran parts); but after reading some of the Kid dissing comments (like the "wuss" thing ), I somehow felt the need to share my opinion too.

As far as I'm concerned, I think Kid is, along with Haibara, the most awesome characters ever. Kid has a lot of charisma; and he's smart, clever, kind-hearted, cool, caring, young, mysterious, handsome (in every girl's view ), he works solo, etc. I don't know much about Lupin, but I don't see why he would win against Kid. They're both cool and each one has his own thing.

And, just a question, by the way... Isn't Lupin III himself like a rip-off of the real Lupin (aka the french Arsène Lupin)? Yeah I know he's meant to be his grand-father in the story but he's still an Arsène-Lupin-wannabe in reality. So why do you blame Gosho for making Kaitou Kid similar to Arsène Lupin too? Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to create an argument nor am I trying to diss Lupin, I respect your opinions, but I just felt like sharing mine. I hope I won't regret it though...
