About the OP: I think the scene where Conan is heading towards the BO implies that he didn't tell Ai about his plans, but she knew all along, hence her hiding behind a lamppost(?)

But on a serious note when I first saw it, the only thing that came to my head was that she hid becaue it was very painful to say goodbye plus Horn Lady was saying goodbye to him and that made it even worse.

nah, i don't think Conan was saying goodbye to Ran along the lines "bye Ran, i'm going to fight against an evil organization, stay put, don't follow, don't expect me to be back unharmed", of course, it's more like "ah, ran-neechan, i gotta play in the park"

(then Ran thinking "why do I get the feeling Conan's not going back like shinichi or whatever")

notice that he ran off on his own, implying either of these
a) Conan told her his plans but did not allow her to come with him
b) Conan didn't tell her but she knew all along what he's about to do

i chose b coz it's awesome (i hope you get my point, i'm too lazy to even fix this post)

I'm not going to feel bad about being passionate about something because if you all were more passionate about something maybe we'd have lots of great discussions and this forum would be more livily.

Not like I take my AiXConess to threads that have nothing to do with them or anything sheeeeeessshhhhh, you hatred for the pairings is over exaggerating your view of it >_>
