The latest that their parents have settled down was when they were 20. It shouldn't be then much of a surprise that by the time they are twenty, Ran and Shinichi will be married. As unrealistic as it seems to most of us that a person would decide for his life when he's 20 (marring someone AND having a child).
I don't want to bring it back to a discussion (since it already has a thread - bad parnents in DC), I still can't believe how well and decent Ran and Shinichi turned out to be despite the fact that their parents had them when they were twenty. Also, I fail to see why Gosho needed to make so many things the same with the two pairs (such as having only ONE child). Wouldn't it be much more fun if Shinichi had a younger sister (who would be older than Conan)?
*imagines Shinichi's sister makes fun of him with Haibara* oh Gosho, if only you had half the creativity that I possess.....j/k ;D assuming that Gosho knew his series would go for 15 years, he could have handled the story and characters much better......I think. That's the biggest flaw in manga, you usually wouldn't know for how many years will your work continue.

But given the examples of "Yusaku X Yukiku" and "Kogoro X Eri", Gosho doesn't think of such things as hormones. It's like Disney's The Little Mermaid - as unrealistic and stupid this love at first sight was (she just sees him and decides that she loves him), we're supposed to take it as "love" and not as the hormones of a 16 years old girl.

Well, in this special case, Shinichi has his own house in Japan. But genereally talking, I don't see why not ask your parents to buy you an engagement ring WHILE you can mantain financially with your fiance.

We all know that Shinichi likes Ran. But that doesn't mean he's 100% has a crush on her right? I just got a little bothered about this because if you go to Detective Conan wiki or wikipedia, they would always describe Haibara as "Conan's secondary love interest".
Also, I got a little confuse. It's true that Shinichi likes Ran but feelings for someone could change right? So, will there be still hope for Ai then? (It's not like when a guy already likes another girl, the girl who loves him has 0% chance right? Aren't there any possibilities like 0.001%?)
Moreover, in ep 213 and an episode around 300, Ai and Conan were in a car and Ai looks out of the window , then Conan will stare at her and smile. Ai would notice that and said: "What are you looking at?" then Conan would just smile and said: "Nothing"
Just a little confuse here, but don't you think that moment was cute? Not only it happened once but twice! So, if you guys have suggestions why he looked at her like that?
Note: I'm not saying he's in love with her or something, just a little curious. Because the way he stare at her looked like as if he likes her. That's all.

Actually, that was one of the most strongest hints that Ai loves Conan. When I told my friend that Ai is in love with Conan, they couldn't believe it. I didn't believe it at first when my mother told me after she had watched Movie 4 without me. But I actually started believing in this couple as I watched ep 129.
So, when my friends watched desperate revival, they started believing in CoAi when they saw Ai blushing. One of the strongest hints would also be when Ai dreamt of Conan, the "is there something on my face" ep and the one in the ep when Conan saves her from the bus.
