Re: Shinichi+Ran
I think Ai gave up after the incident in which Ran saved her. Like you guys said earlier, Ai definitely sees Ran as a sister now. This is a fact that can be proven, and since she loves her sister so much. She wouldn't steal her boyfriend or whatsoever. That's why I think Ai stop showing feelings for Conan because first she won't get Conan's feelings and second, she wouldn't steal Conan/Shinichi from Ran. I mean, sisters generally don't steal each other's boyfriend, unless your're just a ***** (5 letters).

I don't think Ai's character is like that either. She's a pretty nice girl. If she respects someone, she really respects that person. Its cool to see Ai acknowledging Ran's strength, and not just physically. I just wish that Ran really has a bigger role in the plot involving the BO to make things more interesting.arielrachel0527 wrote: I think Ai gave up after the incident in which Ran saved her. Ai is definitely a good and nice person. I really like her as a character and as Conan's ally and friend. SHe is perceptional and has good insigths that definitely helps Conan sometimes. And yes, Ran should definitely have more role in the main plot. I don't understand why in AO, Ran seems so weak. I remember countless episodes in which Ran was kidnapped by the culprit, and they all happened in AO. Do they have a grudge against her or something? Seriously, I don't understand it at all!! Oh, one more question. I remember someone saying that Ran was beaten up by the culprit, is there an episode like that yet?G_chaN wrote:I don't think Ai's character is like that either. And when that happens in this show, it leads to murder.arielrachel0527 wrote: I mean, sisters generally don't steal each other's boyfriend, unless your're just a ***** (5 letters).
That's also the episode when Ai first bridges the gap between herself and Ran, too.arielrachel0527 wrote:That was in the Mystery in the Net. Yeah, that would be 246-7, don't know the corresponding manga chapters though.
And I don't think there's been a case where's she's gotten beaten up, though I could be wrong. And, yes, I definitely think she should have a bigger role when it comes to the BO plot, other than being a possible target for them if they discover Conan's identity. That would greatly help with her character development.

Off the top of my head the only time I remember Ran somewhat worse for wear was when she fell in the Shiragami case.

Yeah, I honestly don't remember she being beaten up. But I definitely saw someone said that somewhere in this forum. They are probably referring to a manga file that's not made into an episode yet.Yamamura wrote: Off the top of my head the only time I remember Ran somewhat worse for wear was when she fell in the Shiragami case.

Possibly, I can kinda think of one, but will withhold saying it, that and it wasn't really her getting beaten up per say.

This is so weird, I just watched this episode while eating lunch before reading this.arielrachel0527 wrote:That was in the Mystery in the Net. Because it was one of the episodes I skipped.
And what do you guys mean by beaten up? Physically or mentally?
She got beaten up in Movie 13, but it was non-canon (first time using that word).

Remember that one episode where Ran and Sonoko (not sure if Conan was there) but like... 50 guys were in the forest about to beat the crap out of them, and Makoto came out of nowhere to save them.arielrachel0527 wrote:Physically.Detective Tommy wrote:This is so weird, I just watched this episode while eating lunch before reading this.arielrachel0527 wrote:That was in the Mystery in the Net. Didn't Ran get hit a couple times at the beginning?

Re: Shinichi+Ran
Actually she didn't. But someone pulled out a knife and she got a scratch on her arm, but she only winced and she kept thinking about how to defeat them. That was so amazing and awesome of her! I love to see her in some real action. That was also a reason why I like that episode.Detective Tommy wrote:Remember that one episode where Ran and Sonoko (not sure if Conan was there) but like... Oh, I thought she got hit.
Yeah, her karate is awesome.
In Movie 13, when Ran went to save Conan and had to fight that guy.
And she dodged his bullet, I found that amazing.
Even if it's not possible, I really admire her for that ability.
And I love how she'll endanger herself to save Conan,
someone that is related to Agasa that doesn't have any connection with her..
(I know he's Shinichi, but to Ran, Conan is just a friend that lives with her..)

Re: Shinichi+Ran
Definitely. Ran tried to protect Conan many times, which means that Conan is more than a kid who lives at her house temporarily. From her attitude, we can see that Ran definitely sees Conan as a brother that she never had, and it seems like she enjoys having him as a brother.Detective Tommy wrote: Oh, I thought she got hit.
