I also think he didn't gave her some "normal" White Day gift, because Ran wasn't able to give her V-Day gift to Shinichi personally. He actually took it himself and nommed it without her approval. She also didn't put his name on the gift.
Sooo considering that I think Shinichi didn't want to make her feel bad when he gives her a "real" white day gift. But instead he gives her one that is still considered a white day gift, but it doesn't say it officially ("...try these to get well" and not "Thanks for you V-Day gift").

But that makes it cute somehow~ :3

Dude, I manage to break in my classroom using a piece of paper, cut class (or at least escape the programs), and hit people who annoy me with my shoes. And guys STILL  annoy me with their fanboy ways. Bottomline? Guys will still like a girl even if she isn't the traditional nice girl. And once again, IS IT RAN'S FAULT FOR BEING NORMAL AND NOT BEING SOME UBER-GENIUS THAT (according to some people) WILL MAKE A BETTER MATCH FOR SHINICHI?!?

Well, I don't think either Ran or Ai are "normal" but both are still girlish.

Well, in Rans case, she can kick the butt of most adult men. Is that considered normal? XD She also gets "violent" when she is angry (uses her karate randomly lol). But she's still considerate and cute as a girl. Being afraid of ghost makes her cute too.

Ai is usually very ironic and cynical. She's also a good scientist. This doesn't make her a "normal" girl. But since she likes brand name bags etc. and also likes to befriend Ayumi (who is very cute and girly), this makes her look like a normal girl again :p

So both can't be considered your average girl. But telling what's normal and what's not is always a point of view thing.

Well, I mean "normal" in DC terms. Most of all the girls act like Ran...so that's normal. The only exception is Sonoko...and she's not normal. She's rich. Even as Conan said it "Ai is not like the normal girls" He's said it himself. So, it's as I said before...

In Gosho's world of fiction, the perfect girl is someone who is sweet, and kind, someone who will kick you in the face if you mess with them, but is willing to put up with you, and wait for you until you get home from "work". They are emotional, sensitive, and motherly. They are caring, courageous, and full of morals and justice. They love romance and fantasy. That's the common hero, and normal girl of Gosho's world.

The unconventional female is one who doesn't seem to have many emotions, is very sarcastic, TOO smart, isn't openly nurturing all the time, and is not willing to wait for someone to handle their business before she handles it herself...and not really interested in morals and justice and those abstract things...

You just described Ran vs. Haibara actually.

There are other women too. For example Yumi. She doesn't have a bf either although she "is full of morals and justice" (she's a police officer). She seems to be caring and sensitive too. But she likes to tease people.

Yukiko would be fitting to both "sides". She's rather smart and talented but still motherly and caring. She has a husband, but when she's angry she'll show it and "run away" and won't wait (lol)

Sato isn't waiting for her husband to get home from "work". She's working with him, and I wouldn't wonder if Takagi would end up being the one at home waiting for her to get back from work ;p

Generally I don't think you can split them into 2 groups, "normal" and "unconventional". There are a lot off different types of girls. And in Gosho's fiction there isn't just one perfect girl, but multiple perfect girls imo ;p

I'm sure he'd try a bit, not to mention he's living with her after all. If he'd see some guy pick up his girl every now and then I'm almost sure he'd be pissed as hell. Although if he sees that he can't win without his real body then yes he'd probably wait for an antidote and start drink with Kogoro.

How would he give her the chance to fall for someone else if he keeps chasing away potential suitors? They're both ultra-possessive stalker types (much more evidence of this from Conan/Shin'ichi, though).
