i think if Conan were a real person it's impossible that he doesn't develop feelings for Haibara. Afterall they're always together. And she's the one near him who he can actually interact without pretending to be a kid. And they've been through a lot of things together as well which I think should have tightened their bond. Not to mention Ai is prettier than any other girl in DC (afterall she's Goshos favorite character to draw).

@JeffBeck, the prettiness is insignificant. Unfortunately, Conan is pretty oblivious to Haibara liking him, no matter how many hints Yukiko gave him. But keep in mind, Conan lives with Ran. He has shared many moments with her as well, and I think he has his mind set on who he likes.
@XCrownLessKingX, that's a good question...I'm not sure whether they'll end up as Kogoro and Eri. But since Ran's been away from him for so long, I think she would stick with him like glue.

Well, I like both couples, but Shinichi and Ran will obviously end up being together. Only thing is, I want Ai to be happy. She seriously deserves it,

I completly agree with you,she really deserves to be happy,probably more than any other DC character.But with Gosho we never know what kind of ending he has in mind for her.

Yup of course. But he's not going to be able to interact with her as Shinichi around her, he always has to pretend to be a kid with her. Yeah, he probably does has his mind set, although we're still not 100% sure. All I was saying is if he was a real person, not on the point of view of what's actually happening on the anime

Oh and do you know what episodes did Yukiko give him hints? I only know the one in 335

Its not that that i do not want ShinxRan to happen its pretty obvious it is. Its just that Gosho a guy who can make some great complex mysteries and crimes would make the main character love life so bland and obvious . Do not get me wrong I not bashing there relationship its amazing that ran has waited that long for shinichi
even though she does not know where he is or if he is okay and even though all that waiting is breaking her heart she still loves him its just apart of me wants both of them to have another love interest to show a really test there feelings for each other. srry for the long post

It's not like she had the intention of killing people. Also, she was born into the black organization...she never had a normal life. Her parents and sister are dead. Of course she's gonna be bitchy, I would too if my entire family was dead. Still deserves happiness

@JeffBeck, yeah, episode 335 is the only one I know of with Yukiko's hints But I think you're right. If Conan was a real person, I'd bet he'd fall in love with Haibara.

@XCrown, I agree with you. The main character's love story should be a little bit more interesting...Gosho should try veering away from the whole ''best-childhood-friend'' kind of story.

Kinda I have to disagree with You. She had a normal life, she had it when she was sent to US to study. She had intentions of killing people. She clearly mentions to Conan (what upsets him) that he was the only one that death was not confirmed. Therefore she very well knew that her drug is meant to kill people, and it is possible that she herself applied it to several victims too. Her entire family is dead. Parents died long time ago and never really cared about Shiho (except mother and her tapes). She can be upset really because of Akemi's death. But even that death won't change the fact that she did more evil things than good, and even now she's kinda... she hid the FDD with the drug's data saying Conan that it burned. She looks like she would have yet another plan in her mind and may even try to trick Conan.

Exactly!She deserves to be happy,she never had the choice to do the right thing,contrary to the other characters,so saying she deserved to be punish is really mean.
Actually now I only care for Ai's happiness,even Conan's life doesn't matter to me.I just hope Gosho will continue drawing CoAi interactions like he used to in the past,and not only for comedy purpose.

I still disagree...She was raised in the black organization, which changed her mentality greatly. It was either be killed or kill, what is she supposed to do? If she doesn't follow orders, she'd probably face extreme consequences. The point is, she's making a change in herself. She's become less cold-blooded and keeps researching for an antidote. Heck, she's aware of how cold-blooded she was and even attempted to kill herself on that bus (Conan saved her). She's clearly aware of her mistakes and is trying to patch them up. I doubt she has another ''plan'' in her mind. Gin & Vermouth scare her greatly, and she seems to want to stay away from them. And we don't know how much other crap she's been through in her life. Hasn't she paid for what she's done? Her family's DEAD and the black organization kept chasing her until the Mystery Train Arc.

I don't deny these interactions are interesting, but I still think childhood friend romances rock, more than any other kind of romance. It's a pity if Gosho uses this stereotype only out of laziness, I think the innocence and cuteness of childhood romance-friendship kicks the butt of other stories. Even ConanAi is based on interactions of childlike characters, even though we know the personalities are adult. Sorry for being annoying

@Nemomon Seriously you must be the only person who thinks Ai had a normal life when she was in the BO.She never had any intention to kill people(volume 18,the BO used her drug to kill people and she disaqgree with that idea).I wonder how you would react if your parents were dead,and if you were raised by some people forcing you to study in order to create a drug.Not to mention that Ai couldn't see her sister very often.
I think if I were in Ai's place I would be mad as well.
I do think she has to face justice in a way because she created a drug,but she cleasly deserves happiness too.
