Ai + Conan

I agree it felt kinda sloppy.  It seemed like Gosho was tired with the AixCon pairing and stopped fiddling around with the idea, but he realized that this new pairing had developed a giant fanbase and was afraid of completely getting rid of it.

Therefore, this is why we see like random AiCon moments like every 100 episodes (spark, Ai turning Conan's face, looking at her butt, etc.)

Yeah, he kind of dug himself into a hole on that one. But even if I were a AiCon fan all the way, I don't think I would've been in all complete rage mode if he'd let it down nicely instead of...what ended up happening.

And what you've said about the random AiCon moments is just Gosho making it even sloppier. I mean, it seems like he's decided to let the AiCon go and - to be honest - all the power to him on the choice. It's his story, he tried it out, didn't like it. Really, he shouldn't worry about the fans to that extent. If they really want AiCon, they'll write/draw it/make a fan game. Teasing it is just like playing with a dog using a treat: it looks like the pup is having fun, but sooner or later it'll bite you because it's p!$$ed and wants the snack already.

And most of these moments are lame with either stupid character development or worthless fanservice. A good AixConan moment was the one in episode 231, for example.

I think someone said it, but pretty much the good AiCon moments were before 345 :V Obviously all weren't perfect, but at least then they weren't simply fanservice. Like 231...oh god, 231 (LOOOOVES that episode)

And at the giant wall of text...that, in a sense, sums up my feelings pretty well. Ranichi is all fine and dandy and cute and I can see how people like it. But it's "safe" just like you said. ...Not to mention, it's not subtle in the least. Now, AiCon isn't exactly too subtle either, but there have been moments where I've wondered just what Ai or Conan is thinking. (ex: after DR arc when Conan mentions he didn't get the chance to confess to Ran, Haibara seems happy in the car. And when Shinichi asked why she was helping him and she looked away with wide eyes. And for one with Conan when it seemed he was going to ask her if she liked him *my god Gosho, how much you trolled me*)

These two are so unpredictable that it fascinates me. Again, I don't know if I support them (I support pretty much no pairings, I'm fine watching anything TBH :V) but I do know I enjoy watching their interactions because I never know what to expect. When I was watching the episode with the acting at the beginning where Haibara says she loves him, even though I had read the comments on YT that said they were acting I still ended up wondering if they were actually being serious (up until the "Yaiba" part.) When Mitsuhiko said Conan was acting badly...I almost wanted to slap him and say "I BELIEVED THAT AND I /KNEW/ IT WASN'T HAPPENING!"



So yeah. Anyway, just a little coolio note: to see if I supported it/liked it/whatnot, I decided to draw a AiCon sort ofish pic and it is turning out adorable xD So I may post it soon for (hopefully) enjoyment :3

omg...that huge colmn of text almost made me become ConAi...
I'm already Haibara fan but for now I've thought that no one deserves her...
but that almost made me REALLY want that Conan is cloned and other goes to Ran while other goes to Ai...
(I'm very much of a ConRan-fan and no one can make me think otherwise...but sharing is caring,ne?)

1 Thing i want to say that if Ai really was in love with conan and            (Gosho mad her die) *HopNot* i know that his love for him will not die bec i know that she is loyal and has the same personality of DC girls but she doesnt show it bec of her diff. childhood.
and if gosho mad her die i hope that she confessed before he does that.

Those were the days...watching DC on the crappiest quality youtube videos known to mankind, during the summer and having absolutely no life and marathoning through episodes.

Yeah... The summer that I marathoned in was apparently really really rainy.

To me, it seemed like it had been nothing but dry...no wonder, I was in my room for a good chunk of it :X

But, back then Ai was considered a central character - things have changed.

It's funny because Gosho has stated that Ai has always been his favorite character, therefore it's kind of strange of him to cast aside her as a minor character in the newer episodes/files. 

Shiho hasn't made an appearance since episode 176.  That was like..in the 90's.  GET ON IT WITH IT.

I can sort of understand how Shiho hasn't made an appearance as a reason to do so hasn't arisen (and, y'know, it's dangerous :X) but I really don't get Gosho saying Ai is his favorite character. I mean...I would use her more then ._. Maybe he's anxious to do that since he hasn't really figured out how to have her there without making her seem attracted to Conan. Simple really, have her put a collar around him so he doesn't run off.

Though not as weird as his apparent favoritism towards Ai is the fact that his experiment kind of turned out well. I'm pretty sure it's evident enough that Ai is a popular character. I guess there could be plot purposes to keep her away at some points, but I don't think it would kill anything if Conan was just hanging with Ai and Agasa and say Kogoro showed up. That'd be a cool case, seeing Ai interact with Kogoro, even if it was just small talk that meant nothing

On the short end: Ai hasn't used her full potential yet, and if Gosho doesn't insert her a bit more, she may not live up to all that potential in the end.  It really helps her case, too, that her interactions with Conan -- the title character -- are usually witty and dynamic. To be honest: I wouldn't mind a file with just the two of them stuck somewhere. It'd be entertaining, who knows what they'd talk about.

Conan: "So, I just realized I know next to nothing about you. Have any hobbies?"
Ai: "Porn."
Conan: *facefault*
Ai: "Just kidding."

...You see, the fascinating part about the interactions between Ai and Conan is that I could honestly see that happening...except for the fact DC is a kids' show, but still.
