Basic Gameplay
— To use an ability or vote, you must PM the order directly to the GM. Those submitted in the main channel do not count.
— You may provide the GM with a will to be presented at the time of your death (unless you are erased). A typical will usually summarizes a player's actions and intel they have gathered to that point, resulting in something along the lines of: "Will: I interrogated Conia and got Black Org on Night 1. I interrogated PhoenixTears on Night 2 and got Not Black Org." Your will, unless erased, will be provided by the GM after your death is announced (whether it be by lynching, APTX, or just a routine killing).
— The Black Org is expected and encouraged to consult with one another on who to kill during the night and possible lynch votes during the day. A private channel for the Black Org to discuss strategies is provided in every round by the GM.
— Every member of the Black Org must kill successfully before a member is allowed a second kill. The exceptions to this is if a member is unable to kill due to being arrested or lynched, in which case they are no longer factored in to the kill cycle. Once the cycle has been completed once, a new order may be decided.
— Every member of the Black Org may use an APTX assuming there are enough remaining. Unlike with the nightly kills, there is no restriction on how many may participate. Each member is limited to using just one APTX per day phase, however.
— The Black Org may kill or APTX a fellow member if they so wish.
— If Vermouth and Kid are in the same game and designate the same player for their disguise, they will both disguise as that same role and the targeted individual will receive a new role.
— Detective Boys, BFFs, and Lovers must not overlap.
— You may always send in a new order to replace your old one, assuming the phase has not yet ended.
— If multiple incompatible actions are submitted by a player, the last valid action prior to the countdown ending will be the one played. If no compatible actions are submitted, none will be entered.
— The Black Organization and the Detective Boys each have a rank system for orders.
Voting
— Everyone is allowed to vote during day phases, whether they be from the town or the Black Org. You may only not vote if you are dead, not in Japan (as a result of being a traveler), are arrested, or were hindered by an ability (such as Frighten).
— Each player's vote is made public at the end of each day phase unless Voice of Reason was used.
— If a player was poisoned by APTX or arrested, their vote for that phase will not count or be shown.
— Players may abstain from voting.
— If a lynch fails due to lynching a traveler or the one with the most votes being protected or Accompany saving the lynch target, votes will still be shown as usual, but there will be a note that the lynch failed.
— If, after Kazuha's Accompany has been taken into account, two players receive the same number of lynch votes in a phase, and one is APTXed or arrested, the other will be lynched.
— If a single person with the most lynch votes is either arrested or APTXed in the same phase, there will be no lynch.
Killing/Arrest/Lynched
— If someone is killed, lynched, or arrested, their action for that phase will not go through and will fail. The only exceptions to this are arrests and poisonings with APTX. However, arrests can stop APTX--lynchings, on the other hand, do not.
— If Kazuha was successfully poisoned and accompanied someone that was about to be lynched over the 1 vote difference, the reduction of that 1 vote fails (aka, the accompany fails) and the target of accompany will be lynched instead.
Auto-Arrest (House Search/Face Pinch)
— If a house search uncovers a crime of any sort, the target is automatically arrested.
— If a face pinch is performed on a player and that player is in disguise (whether they are town or Black Org), the target is automatically arrested.
— Auto-arresting is a feature of these abilities and does not otherwise apply to other actions. For example, a crime uncovered via an investigation action does not yield an auto-arrest (even if it is being carried out by a police officer).
Wills
- Every player can PM a "Will" to the GM. It can be a letter, a tape or just an item that you'll drop. This Will will be shown in case you're killed.
- The GM has the last decision. In case a will, tape, or method of death is giving out too much info, then it can be changed by the GM accordingly.
- A Will will get lost if the body is erased by Piscos ability. Pisco will receive the Will then.
Crimes
— If a crime is hindered by discombobulation or other ability, it is treated as having failed and thus not happening.
— List of abilities that constitute crimes: Killing (whether it be of the normal, sniping, or APTX variety), Blaming, Disguising, Slandering, Bribing, Discombobulating, Abducting, Erasing, Frightening, Stealing.
— Using the Black Suitcase for any action is not a crime, including using it to commit a crime. Considering that action never actually took place, it is not considered having happened and thus is not a crime itself.
— Being a member of the Black Organization is, in itself, not a crime. (You can't arrest Conia for being Gin.)
— Faked Black Suitcase actions are NOT crimes (even discombobulating, etc.)
— Being in the BO is NOTa crime. So you can't arrest Conia for being Gin.
Condition
All players - except the travelers Hakuba and Maktoto - start the game "alive" (normal). However, their condition might worsen during the course of the game...
Alive: An alive player may use any of his/her abilities according to the rules. They can talk freely and participate in the lynch-voting.
Abroad: This player is out of the country until he/she returns to japan. Any actions used on him will fail. He/she can't be killed. Such players can talk freely, but not participate in lynch-voting or use any ability themselves.
Injured: An injured player can not use any abilities and lose any of their passive abilities like for example a disguise. The only exception is the nightly killing action from BO members (though, they will loose any advantages they normally have like erasing the body or sniping) and Revenge. Injured players can still talk freely and participate in the lynch voting. Injured players may use gadgets given to them.
Suspended: Police who try to arrest someone for a false charge will get suspended for 2 phases after the arrest attempt, as well as the phase the arrest attempt was on. When being suspended, the police will lose all abilitiesexcept for Voting on day lynching. So, a police who attempts an arrest on Night 3 would fail any investigations on Night 3, and be suspended for Day 3 and Night 4. On Day 4 they would have normal abilities. Like Injury, they can still use items they're given, though.
Arrested: An arrested player can't use any abilities, but at the same time they also can't be killed. Any actions, except those that release them from prison (Ex: Lawsuit, Satou manually releasing a detainee), them will fail. They can talk freely, but not participate in the lynch voting. The arrested players role will (normally) not be revealed upon the arrest.
Dead: That player was killed during the game. They can no longer participate in this round, however they will still win or lose the game together with their side. Dead players may not give any information concerning the game to others or influence the game in any other way.
Black Organization
Leadership
— The Black Org has a leader, usually the highest ranked member.
— The leader has the final say on who to designate as the night kill target and may give the order as such. No one can override this order.
— If the leader orders a lover to kill their lover, it will happen unless the lover doing the attack is discombobulated, or if Vodka happened to be the lover and discombobulated the leader the same phase. If the kill does go through, the murderer will commit suicide.
— The leader may not command a subordinate to use an APTX. They are limited to sending in only their own APTX order.
NOTE: As BO Leadership is unrelated to the role itself, a BO Leader who is arrested keeps the right to give out orders and the suitcase. A true criminal mastermind is not held back by bars!
INACTIVE BO MEMBERS: The BO Leader can only submit kill orders for the other BO members. NOTHING ELSE!
Other
Each mafia member must attempt a Night murder before any mafia member gets a second turn to kill (unless exceptions apply).
Every member can use the APTX4869 during day phase. Each member can only use one pill per phase.
BO can kill BO if they so wish.
The mafia is allowed to and is expected to consult with each other on who to kill during the night and who to lynch during the day. You may all vote to lynch different players if you wish.
Phase Changes
Whenever a phase changes, the GM makes a pretty post (along with PMing results of actions to players)! In phase changes, the following things will be shown:
Successful Arrests
Deaths
Roles (where applicable)
Lynch votes (+ modifiers like accompany/accusation if it makes a change in the vote)
Hints?!
Lynch votes won't be shown in the case of Voice of Reason, all other cases it will be shown. Suspensions will not be shown. Injuries will not be shown.
Winning Condition
The game is not over until winning for one side is impossible, given the entire BO votes for one person. Note that normally, this means the BO wins when the number of BO = number of town, however there are a few exceptions, for example:
- If a character able to arrest is in the game, the game won't end because it's possible that they could arrest the rest of the BO and save the day.
- If it's a Night phase and the BO has 1 more players than the town, and the town lacks any police + the ability to stop the night killing, the BO wins that phase (because the kill will always succeed and the vote will then tie)
