This is the current plan.
Prep Phase will start Saturday at 10:00AM EST.
But then, original time changes will happen at 10:30PM EST.
I made a list of things we need to discuss:
- Any new roles? Removing any old roles? Changing any roles?
- Should we add Dus' mystery role, the girl detective? *does not remember her name*
Also, I'm thinking about replacing dreams with presents. Just for this round.
So, people will receive a present from 4-5 people. And inside the present, there will be gifts that the person would want.
For example:
I'm receiving the gift. (The gifts will either be true or false.)
PT (Sonoko) gave me a gift box - it would contain jewels. [But this doesn't completely narrow down her role. It could be her uncle, Kaitou Kid, etc]
Kleene Onigiri (Gin) gave me a gift box - it would contain a gun, and a blank trench coat etc. [It could be Akai, Gin, etc]
The people chosen will be random. What do you guys think? Feel free to not like it, or change it.

And 10:30 PM EST works really well cause I know I'll be off work then all the time.
We were working on Numabuchi (did I spell that right?) (serial killer role) in the role discussions thread, if you wanna look into. Other than that, some other changes were proposed, so you might want to look over those if you have time. It's all in the role discussions thread afaik.

Personally, I like it more when you give out more hints at the beginning, and then less (since the people alive will be less too). That's just me tho :V
Also, even if it's random. Make it a bit equal. So, not that someone gets 6 hints while someone else got none XD
Question: If I (Gin) give you a gift. You will know something about me. But will I also know that I gave someone a gift or not?

Then I changed to "manually". With writing down every player name and role on a piec of paper. And then draw a name and a role.

Personally, I like it more when you give out more hints at the beginning, and then less (since the people alive will be less too). That's just me tho :V

I am not a fan of "dreams" or gifts. I think the players should work to gain something like this. So the GM should award the "gifts", not just give them out randomly.
But yes, there are some discussions about changes in the Roles and Rules Thread. You might want to take a look there and decide for yourself what you want to use and what to leave for another GM to try out.
I used a random generator on my calculator to role "dices". I used the rolls to distribute the roles. (First who would be BO, then which roles they get. Then if there are DBs in the game and who they are. Finally I distributed the remaining roles to the other players, again by going through every player and rolling their role (and repeating if the role was already in play).

If I do do gifts, then I might give out gifts to 1/4 or 1/5 of the players a night. And as more and more people die then it'll automatically decrease the rates.

But would you like it more, if I made a challenge and whoever wins their challenge gets a gift?

Considering both of your post. I thought about this. Two options.
Option 1:
I'll give gifts to 1/4 or 1/5 or 1/6 of the players. (Rate can't be decided until I know the number of players)
Gifts will contain items that one of the roles would want. Hinting their roles. (The hint can be true or false. All the gifts can be true, but not all gifts can be false. At least 1 will be true.)
No player can receive gifts twice.
Option 2
Secret Santa! Everyone will receive one present, unopened. In order for you to open your present and receive the contents. You must figure out your secret Santa, AKA the person that bought you the gift. You will get 1 or 2 chances to PM me the name of the person you think is your Secret Santa.
If you guess correctly, here are some idea for prizes. I think this should be discussed.
- You get to learn the identity of the person that gave you that prize.
- You get to learn their type of role. Detective, Police, FBI, DB, Etc.
- You get a hint on their role.
If you fail, then you lost your present and I'll give it to the orphans.
Regarding the BO learning town roles, that might be too easy. So I have to find a way to even it out.
Make it harder for the BO to find out their secret Santa / give them one chance instead of two. Or make their hint less, obvious.
Feel free to change anything, or tell me your thoughts.

Forgot to mention this very important note.
Throughout the storyline posted each phase, and mini-story-line posted to the players for their actions, I will include hints on who sent the present.
Even how you receive the present might be a hint. Who knows.

But given that you'll be choosing who gets present from who (if you go with the secret Santa idea), it'll probably be random so there has to be some kind of hint as to who possibly could have sent it, otherwise it's a complete shot in the dark as far as guessing goes.
