the man was in the desert for a few hours yet the chocolate didn't melt, also if he hadn't seen people for a few hours, then he must of bought the chocolate before hand visiting the desert and should of melted but it didn't meaning he only got their recently
I see what you did there

That's the answer I was looking for.
Here's the reasoning:
First off Kogoro "took a drive in the hot, arid desert".
Secondly the stranger had been walking "A few hours"
if that was true the the chocolate bar couldn't have "broke off a piece with a snap".
For a chocolate bar to snap it had to be cool and if he had been in the hot desert for as long as he said it should've been a soupy mess.
Congratulations!
Well, you're next...

Re: Kogorous Riddle Thread and eworms Deduction Thread
Kogorou, I hope you do not mind. But here I go again
First the riddle
[quote="Magical Mystery"]
Okay I'll take this one then.
Kogoro won a trip to Las Vegas. Ran and Conan didn’t go with him on this trip because they had things to do at school (Ran had a tournament and Conan got coerced in a school play by the Detective Boys), so he went on his own.
One day while in Las Vegas he decided he needed a break from the noise of the casinos and rented a car and took a drive in the hot, arid desert, but still enjoyed the comforts of the air-conditioning of the car. While driving he heard on the radio that a bank robbery happened earlier that day and that the robbers were still on the loose.
After a while he saw a clean-shaven man in everyday clothing carrying a backpack trying to catch a ride.
Against his usual nature Kogoro decided to pick him up since he was heading back toward Vegas and the hitchhiker was going the same way.
When he picked up the stranger, he was thanked and they began the ride back.
Kogoro asked “How long have you been walking out here?â€

True but since magical didn't make any mention of that I just went ahead with my deductionKogorou wrote: That chocolate could have come out of a travel-cooler.
Same to you sstimson since he didn't specify
anyways here one riddle i just thought up
Following Kogorou exhausting day at catching the robber, he headed to a small hotel for a night sleep at 10:00. After a peaceful sleep Kogorou awoke to see out of his room's window that it was snowing, straining to check the time it was at midnight, troubled over the cold he quickly pulled his blanket up and fell back to sleep.
Refreshed and ready for another day out gambling he went out of his motel at 9 am to the empty parking lot, quickly scanning the parking lot he saw no footsteps anywhere apart from the ones he was leaving behind.
Around the middle of the parking lot though Kogorou saw a lump with frozen blood pool. A man lay there, dead, cold and covered in snow; a knife was also stuck out the front of his body but was also covered by the snow.
The police now arrived were troubled at how a man was murdered yet there were no footprints of the killer, Kogorou gave out his Classic laugh
"Bawahahaha, don't you see the simplicity of this case, it is obvious what happened"
He went on to explain what he deduced happened and after the police caught the killer was confirmed right.
Oh yea and the falling snow didn't cover up the killer footprints as the snow was to deep for snow to cover it up again
So the question is how the killer managed not to leave any footsteps
Btw i'm not familiar with las vegas weather so just assume what i said here is true
also to be honest im expecting someone to solve this withing a hour or 2

If the backpack had been unusual in any way it would have been mentioned, it was just a regular backpack - no coolers, gimmicks or any other tricks.
@ lucky777
Las Vegas is a city primarily surrounded by desert and mountains.
The "Las Vegas' winters are of short duration and the season is generally mild, with daytime highs near 60 °F (16 °C) and nighttime lows around 40 °F (4 °C). The mountains surrounding Las Vegas accumulate snow during the winter but snow is rare in the Las Vegas Valley itself." (Wikipedia)
Anyway we'll allow it for the sake of the puzzle.

sstimpson: it's okay
@lucky777: it's cool pale, let's keep playing
Sure it snows in Vegas!
It was snowing the whole night,
the man was murdered before it started to snow heavily and there for no footprints where left behind.

Possible, if there were no snow around to pick the footprints up but otherwise the man's footprints would of been left behindsstimson wrote: Well I get to it and maybe add it to this one. Could the guy have been a knife thrower in lucky7 riddle?
