"You know," dumytru pipes up. "We were promised trick-or-treating."

"Are you really going to eat candy you get here??" darkest absol squeaks.

The smoker frowns delicately. "All in good time," they sniff. "Tomorrow night, perhaps. Tonight, however, you must get yourselves into costume."

"When bash got into costume he exploded," Jecka points out.

"That's because he put on the wrong costume," the smoker explains. "I have here what might appear to be a wide selection, but in reality there is only one costume that each of you could possibly choose. Things won't...work out too well...if you pick a wrong costume, so choose carefully."

The group looks apprehensively at the pile of garments that's suddenly appeared, unburning, in the fire.

"Go on," the smoker says enthusiastically. "Reach right in. Nothing bad will happen--well, provided you choose correctly."

Yuriko steps forward bravely and reaches into the fire, pulling out a Little Red Riding Hood cloak and picnic basket. KangarooGirl is next, choosing a doctor's coat and stethoscope. MoonRaven chooses Maleficent horns and a black cape, OsakaDetective a farmer's overalls and straw hat.

"Now what?" comes Conia's voice from out of what now looks like a very out-of-place bush.

"Now...we wait for Halloween," the smoker says simply. "You've made your choices...we'll see tomorrow if you were correct."
