What's an "APUSH" exam?
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.
The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

Oh, I forgot to mention: Ghost-Detective Matsuda has been re-introduced in this game as well even though he's not in the roles list. Preparation Phase Ends!
As day breaks, you hop out of bed, eager to seize the day (and the old man's money, too), so eager that you skip breakfast, hop directly into your car and speed off.
As you're about to reach the estate, your drive is cut short by a curious sight. The paved road ends at a gorge, over which the only passage seems to be a clearly rotting and decrepit bridge. Looks like you're walking, you guess... and looks like a few other people came to the same conclusion you figure, judging by the other cars parked on the gorge's edge. On your way across, part of a plank breaks beneath your feet, almost causing you to fall off to your death. You caught yourself in time though, so clearly luck is on your side!
You make your way into the estate, even though you're not entirely certain where the ceremony's being held. You figure it can't be too hard to find though, because all of the stone paths are overgrown aside from one path that looks like it's been maintained throughout the years. After who knows how much walking you come to the end of the path, in front of a mansion that's rather... what's the word? You can't decide how to describe the mansion's paint job. Maybe "splendiferous", you think that's a word well suited for the eccentricity of the mansion. Either way, you arrive at the front of the splendiferous mansion, where a group of people already seem to be gathering.
"Oh look," one of them says. "Another fake, aren't you? Really, just leave so his rightful heirs can get his money, thanks."
You doubt this person's sincerity, and don't really think they're the real deal either. "Oh yeah? Well right back at ya, pal! I got my shoes all dirty coming here, no way am I backing off now! And I'm totally more legitimate than you. I'm like, totally his child. For real."
Another person smirks. "Yeah right. Preaching to the choir, here..."
The group goes quiet as the front doors of the mansion swing open, revealing the butler. As he ushers the group inside the house, you realize he's much more imposing than he was on TV...
He leads the group into the mansion, towards a room with a table where mountains of food are piled up. You turn to the room, ready to eat all the delicious looking food, but the butler calls you back. "Ah, sorry... that's for later. Please, the viewing room is this way."
Instead, you are shoved into a tiny room with no chairs, and just a TV stuck into the side of the wall in front of you with a window to the side. As the last one to enter, the butler closes the doors behind him, and then reaches over the group to turn on the TV. The TV starts playing a video of an old man sitting in a chair, who you guess is Akonyl.

Meanwhile, back at the bridge, a man by the name of Edogawa4869 has just arrived at the estate and is looking at the gorge. "Whew," he thinks to himself, "that's a long drop! I better be careful when crossing this bridge, but I'm already late..."

Back at the mansion, the video of Akonyl has started talking.
Akonyl: "Ah, why hello there, my guests! If you're watching this right now, it means that I'm dead. Dead as a doornail! And that means it's time to split my will up between my children. But, first things first: If you would, Mr. Butler?"
Taking a cue from the video, the butler pushes a nondescript button on the wall and you see a flash of light through the window as a giant explosion erupts in the distance. You swear you could hear a faint "noooooooo" too, but that must be your imagination.
Akonyl: "wait for it... wait for it... BOOM! Haha, was that timing good? Did it just blow up? Alright, I never liked that bridge anyway, back when I was a kid there was this time where--"
the video's speech is interrupted by a man crashing through the roof, into the group.
Butler: "Oh ho ho, how nice of you to "drop" by. Oh ho ho. Wait, now I can't say that... drat. Oh, I've said too much."
Akonyl: "--and so I was never the same again. But anyway, back onto the topic! I blew up the bridge! You know why? Because I know the truth! If I'm dead, it means you grubby little urchins killed me for my money! I figure they'll pin it on Renaldo, but he's such a dunce it couldn't have been him. So it has to be you! So don't think I'm not on to your plans. But, I've always liked games, so rather than kill you right here, I just won't let you escape, and instead we'll play a little game. I'm sure not everyone gathered here today are my children. Would-be thieves, not much better than murderers. So, my murderous children, if you can kill all of these thieves who are trying to get in my will, I'll give it to you anyway. And thieves, if you find and kill all of my children, I'll have my butler give you the contents of my will instead for avenging me. And with that... let the games begin! Butler!"
The Butler nods and pulls a lever that you didn't notice before as he holds on to the door's handle, dropping out the floor and causing the whole group to fall into a black pit.
Butler: "Oh ho, do drop in again soon! Oh wait, I already said that... Have a nice trip? Ah! Have a nice trip! Oh ho ho..."
As you're tumbling through the darkness you decide to formulate a plan. And wait a second... how did the butler reach over twenty people anyway?
Night 1 Begins!
(Whew, long Night 1 post, don't expect such long posts after this. Roles going out now! :O)
