I am surprised that so many people do not like Ran. I find her to be a caring and kind lady.

I'm also one of the bigger Ran  haters here. When the series first started I found her character to be at least interesting. Now Gosho has made her into that typical anime girl that you see in almost any other anime. That was one of my biggest fears with Kazuha as well, but she hasn't evolved into that just yet, and hopefully never will.

In a poll where 1 vote is allowed, 22 voting Ran out of 135 voters and having 7678 members still unaccounted for definitely doesn't mean "everyone" here "hates" Ran.

Being the main female character has no bearing on how people feel about her. Some people specifically don't like "strong" or "beautiful" or "nice." ...There are also some that may just not like Gosho's execution of her character. I am one of those people. I used to like her, but then Gosho's writing fell through on her character imo.

What Gosho thinks shouldn't sway anyone to think in any other way. Everybody's got their own opinion, it's what makes people largely different from one another. If everyone were exactly the same, life would suck and be boring. Also, one of the reasons most often brought up about why people don't generally find Ran to be a favorite is because she's painted as the "perfect woman". There are some people who don't like that. ...Again, I'm one of those people.


There are literally millions of reasons that people could have to not like Ran. It could be personal, it could be a pet peeve, it could just be because.

Also note that this thread is called "Least Favorite Character". Least Favorite does not always mean "hate", and in fact I believe it was worded that way to avoid any unnecessary conflict.
