Sonoko is actually a pretty important character.
A good number of the cases are at parties that Kogoro/Ran along with Conan were invited by SONOKO.
Also her family members were in a bunch of cases.

Including cases of murder and theft (Kaitou Kid).

But Genta on the other hand, hasn't done anything interesting and his father's episode debut wasn't even a good one...

I'm with the Genta haters. Ayumi and Mitsuhiko have actually been intentionally helpful. I don't remember Genta ever really being helpful except maybe by accident. He's obnoxious in pretending to be the leader of the Detective Boys and taking credit for Conan's thinking. Worse, he's actually put Conan in danger.

Still, I'm more for a death that'll restore the suspense or totally complicate the "obvious" story, so I voted Okiya. Kir would kinda work too. Though, Genta getting jealous of Conan and deciding to find the treasure that's hidden in the shark aquarium all by himself isn't a bad third choice.

True, but time to time he always yells "WE DETECTIVE BOYS DID IT!" or something like that, when only Conan did all the work. Ayumi and Mitsuhiko does it too sometimes, but they do help sometimes. Ayumi helps randomly and Mitsuhiko is pretty smart...

I dunno, he was puzzled/irritated that Kaito wanted Conan especially to investigate in Red, White, and Yellow. I doubt he's supposed to have changed rather than Aoyama just doesn't want to bludgeon the readers too much with Genta's obnoxious side...

I don't care if Genta is obsessed with food.
But the fact that he thinks every hidden clue involves food irritates me.
And he isn't obnoxious. You need a new word... for how annoying he is.

Concerning the other DB, I find Ayumi extremely irritating when she talks about herself using the third person and Mitsuhiko makes annoying remarks quite regularly (e.g : when he tells Takagi "what kind of man are you ?" or blames Conan along with Genta for doing the "ah-le-le" thing).

Haha, well Tommy thinks Ayumi is too kind to be killed.
Mitsuhiko can be annoying. I find it funny when Conan goes "Ah-le-le" so Mitsuhiko can gtfo.

Yeah, and at least Ayumi is the right age for that sort of cutesy talk, unlike some anime characters.

Oh missed your previous question. The time I remember is from episode 15, Missing Corpse, where Genta loses his patience and shouts into the badge/communicator, revealing Conan's presence to the culprit.
