Well, I saw someone posting a trailer of Sailor Moon, so after watching I checked into it some more and saw that they're making a new series, and apparently it'll be more based on the manga than the original anime series was, so I'm kind of looking forward to it.

First episode will apparently be out at the start of next month from what I understand.

I didn't see any topic about this so I started one

I was going make this thread earlier, but had something to do. True story!

Just a suggestion, how about renaming the thread simply to "Sailor Moon" so we can cover anything Sailor Moon related in this topic? (for example, the original show is now being released subbed on hulu every monday with more episodes, and the US will be getting a new faithful dub in the near future, etc.)

As far as the trailer goes, I'm not a huge fan of the art style, and Usagi's hair seems kinda crazy, but I hope I'll like it.

Oh, and we're not going to get Mamoru's original VA

For those who don't know yet, this new anime will be 26 episodes, with 2 episodes airing every other week, so it'll more or less take a year to finish.

I hope they'll continue later, it'd be great to the see the other Sailor Senshi as well. I love Haruka and Michiru

I remember reading somewhere they said that this anime will be more faithful to original manga than original anime...

I think the main obstacle to that would be Toei. If this doesn't turn to be profitable to them, I doubt they'd continue.

The animation is going to take a little time to get used to, but it does pretty look nice . And yes, this is a clean slate so they'll be making it truer to the original manga.

So I looked up the new VA. Apparently I've heard him in a few series, but I can't really think of what he sounds like anymore ^_^;

I've read the manga but only seen bits of the old anime, and I adore the manga, so I'm really looking forward to this. I'm alright with the art style; I don't love it, I don't hate it. I do love the fact that the translators have already tweeted that there will be precisely none of that "Haruka and Michiru are cousins" crap. MY OTP WILL BE LET FREE TO OTP TO THE FULLEST <3

I'm not sure if I want to watch this. I seen the old anime a lot of times, and even tried to escape from school just to watch the next episode, but I don't think I'm happy seeing this. I rather would like to see a completely new season than this.

From the other side, I remember when they revived the Slayers series and made 2 new seasons. Somehow I couldn't watch it..

They're covering the entire thing in 26 episodes? I know the manga was fairly short, but that still seems like too few...

Apparently Mamoru has glasses. Can't help thinking "Clark Kent" now :x

I think they're only covering the first arc.

Okay, that makes a whole lot more sense. Otherwise they'd have to introduce several new characters in each episode, and that would just be a mess.

but still... they still need to introduce five sailor senshi and plus introduce four generals AND do final battle with queen beryl/ queen metalia... isn't it too small for 26 even if we skip the "filler episodes" and stick strickly with manga plot line...

also question not related to upcoming anime... why is Chibiusa so hated among the fans?
