I agree, I´m a bit disappointed, I imagined Laxus would at least be injured or Ivan to be stronger. But it´s still intense: the guy that wants the 13 keys and now Zeref has been detected. And also, what´s Shalia´s magic I wonder ...

That`s not the case...

1. Iwan says himself that Raven Tail members use magic that Fairy Tail are weak against. That is not mean a single Raven Tail can handle every Fairy Tail. Raven Tail just unlucky that they don`t bring a member that can counter a thunder (thunder is a very rare element. Even in One Piece, only Luffy can stop Enel).

2. Raven Tail are underestimating Fairy Tail too much, especially with 3 months training Fairy Tail did before the competition. Raven Tail are way overconfidence with their ability

3. Luxus is already way too strong to begin with. There are reasons why Luxus loses, first he couldn`t control himself while battling Natsu, and second he took out Hades' powerful attack intentionally with no magic.

4. Iwan in is a shock condition, knowing that his father knows everything about Raven Tail and yet do nothing. Or maybe Iwan can`t show his true power to take out his own son?

But I really thought Lacus would have a pretty tough time leading with the magic-cancel guy (Obra right?), but he just knocked him out xD Besides, they didn´t go 1 on 1, they went full 5 against him, but I agree Laxus is too strong.

I agree with that. But I was surprised Laxus won since usually in these situations, the anti-heroes lose because by the laws of Shonen, the heroes are supposed to defeat the enemies. Guess this trope doesn't really work in Fairy Tail and "badass" means "badass" all the way.

That makes no sense. They decided themselves to step altogether against Laxus. If they couldn't take on him, then they shouldn't have tried

That's true, but it just shows how incompetent Raven Tail is. If after seven years they can't take altogether on a strong member, it kinda lowers down the expectation you have from them as villains.

And what would have happened if Erza or Gildarts were there? If Raven Tail didn't prepare to face against the strongest ones, it just shows that they are incompetent.

I think it should be this way, being that they were the best guild, but the real tough guys should be Sabertooth, they haven´t met any of them yet; but I agree there could be a loss or a more balanced fight, I think Wendy´s fight will be this way.

So either Lost Magic is now something that any child can pick up on the way, or she's somehow related to Zeref as Jellal noted.
Wendy is pretty much screwed, I guess.

I still don't get the whole magic system. They're not bound to one specific type of magic, they choose what to learn. If so, why do some of them end up learning a type of magic that is considerably weaker than others?
