i started reading tsubasa first, then xxxholic; but now i'm reading them back and forth

Hmmm.... I haven't read TRC yet, but I watched the anime. Unfortunately, I didn't like Sakura in TRC. I'm not used to Sakura's personality. But now (since the manga is finished) I might start reading it.

My vote goes to xxxHOLIC. I love Yuuko. She's so cool and also, the storyline is interesting (but I'm not in the latest chapter yet)

Tsubasa really is odd. Each world they visit is very interesting and I really enjoy the characters they meet but I think it's missing something basic with the plot that makes me enjoy a lot of other manga. Not sure what though.

Ok, just thought i'd revive this thread. Despite the red warning above (Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days.
Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic.), i've decided to reply, and see if anyone actually notices. I'm just curious how many people here have actually read the whole manga? I did, and i found the ending to be pretty... un-ending ish. Has their on-going journey been mentioned in subsequent xxxholic mangas? Anyone know?

Xxxholic will probably bring the Tsubasa people up again, but Tsubasa's plot was so out-of-control by the end that I don't think a "satisfactory" ending would really have been possible anymore. The best they could do was give it a vaguely happy, open ending.

I like Xxxholic better, conceptually and execution-wise, and I think there's still room for a "satisfactory" ending there, even though (like with Tsubasa) they've deviated to some extent from what they originally had going with it.

Edit: Don't know if this happened in the manga, but the "present-day" Tsubasa people went to Kobato's world in the Kobato anime.

I agree. Not a very good ending.
