I will risk such a topic :p

Are there fans of a board games? Though I'm not necessarily thinking about chess or checker, or Halma, but more complicated with more elements.

I can only think of Monopoly (and that other version of it I can't remember the name of), Cluedo, Chess, Draughts (okay, not really complicated at all, but :x). Other than Chess (and playing Cluedo on IRC occasionally) I don't really get the chance to play them as much as I'd like. Everyone always refuses playing Monopoly ;_;.

I've bought a couple over the last year. I enjoy the deck building Dominion style games a lot in particular (I've found a DC comics version and also a ... maid version). Small World's simplified fantasy wars are also a lot of fun, but I've yet to play with the expansion I got. I know I own an Arkham Horror game but I forget the specific name.

Maybe that AH game is Eldritch Horror or Mansions of Madness?

I quite do like playing Dominion, used to play it through entire conventions.

Recently I played also the "7 Wonders" game. Also with cards, somehow similar to the Civilisation.

I cant think of any except Monopoly, Cluedo, Ludo and Scotland Yard. I used to play them as a child. Those were fun times.

Have You tried Fury of Dracula? Also quite old game; in it the Dracula assumes the role of Mr. X while investigators try to catch him. But instead of tickets, the investigators may try to catch him as long as they want, and they must kill him, while the Dracula has another means of winning.

I checked, it's a co-op game called Elder Sign.

I wanna play that game, but I've yet to track down a copy or have enough people around to play more than once ever.
