So at one point in this video my commentary kinda just died for me for an elevator, to the point that I actually completely stopped talking, went back down the elevator and tried again, which is what that main edit is for.

I've read this repeatedly and I'm actually not sure why you wouldn't be surprised.

The first time I recorded this (despite being recorded immediately after part 4) something went wrong and the recording/editing program refused to load it and the video doesn't exist anywhere else. And I tested to see what went wrong...it was apparently because it was still called Part 5. So I called it Part Cinco, redid the to Part 5 for Youtube and everything worked fine. Because technology. Kind of a shame as the previous version was better than this and...yeah I'm probably switching to post-commentary if I can, it's just a better idea.

This...*sigh*

I don't think Audacity liked my attempt to post-commentate...

For the record, the 2 or 3 people who have watched every video I cannot thank enough for putting up with the audio quality issues.

The volume in part three seemed to be at a good level. I didn't listen with headphones either, so that's a good thing. I could hear the game audio too, and that wasn't overpowering either. I liked the backstory and the fact that you acknowledged the different pronunciations of "Zebes". I also really liked hearing about the manga as I had NEVER heard about it before ._. It might have been cool to mention that that first boss appeared in Smash Bros (though that's just something I noticed...heck, it might actually be a different thing for all I know, but the parasite queen looked a lot like the Smash Bros background thing from Metroid)

I like that you take the time to show off the game's features and graphics because this is one of those games that I wouldn't really play. So seeing stuff like the visor effects is awesome. I also like that you show off the "See these? If you shoot them, they explode. So don't shoot them. Okay? Okay" bit. There's also the destroying of birds that's really neat as an extra detail.

Hmmm, yeah I'm not sure what happened in part five but something changed about the audio quality @_@; Darn computers and their messing up of videos D:< On the plus side, it seems like the game audio wasn't really effected. It's nice that you answer the question I had in my mind about the warning meter on the side pretty much as soon as I noticed it.

In terms of content of commentary, I don't think post-commentary changed anything - the content was of the same quality, I think. But yeah, something with the audio is strange. I can't imagine why @_@; I too like to imagine Samus just shooting around in fury :x

Quite frankly, I can't be bothered to figure that out and post-commentary, at this point in time at least, was a mistake.

Not sure what went wrong in part 5 though, I'll have to once again double check some things...

Also, I feel I should address this. It was suggested to go over the story better and I've really been trying to go summarize what the in-game logs are talking about as I felt it could be helpful to go over where the story is going considering how non-traditional most of the storytelling in this game is (logs >>> cutscenes apparently) but I think how I couldn't handle it properly despite reading it over and over again for the last part has made me against that idea. So I think instead I'll keep those parts silent but with annotations so you can skip it if you want. If I have something to say about it, I will but I feel like I've been summarizing in really forced ways that is actively hurting my enjoyment of them and not helping the videos at all.

In this video: bomb upgrade, energy spikes and literally the 4th audio change in less than double that many episodes.

So I literally spent half an hour or so just checking to make sure the audio is...at least as ok as it was in parts 3 and 4. I ran into so many issues and non-issues that it is insane. And the 3rd part I recorded seems to have failed again...*sigh*

Honestly, while the comments do (mostly) help, I'm kinda interested in people's opinions of the game too. I mean, the last few parts have been slightly samey I guess but it gets more interesting with the next video.

"Totally harmless flamethrower..." pffft

IDK, I'm bad at commenting on LPs other than that "I enjoy it, more please". The game's aged pretty well. I can see why it's so roundly praised.

Yeah until RE4 came out, the first 2 Prime games were pretty much the best looking console games around, and they had enough color and a good enough sci-fi style that it didn't age badly at all. Of course, GCN games in general have aged way better than N64 games. Arguably even from a gameplay perspective (compare OOT to Wind Waker, Wind Waker is so much smoother an experience it's crazy)

Yeah, I wonder if it's the visual style that does that. OoT was going for as realistic as the N64 could manage without looking as goddamn creepy as Goldeneye, but Wind Waker went for that bright, cartoony style that ages really well. I enjoyed playing OoT more, though, but that's just my opinion. I think Nintendo games do tend to age pretty well in general because of the emphasis of gameplay over graphics, though.

This time we take on a slightly larger and more important boss.

Part 9 will be kinda lame but 10 is probably the best part so far so that's nice.
