well, I meant less so that all 4 could get a partner, and more just so that the secondary characters could spend all their time love triangling while Korra just goes around and wrecks all of the bad guys' days.

Awww, but I liked Aang's character. :) I prefer the characters soft but dependable! ;D

I don't know much about Korra for the moment but so far it doesn't seem I'll enjoy this new protagonist very much. But I'll give it a chance since I love Avatar: The Last Airbender. :)

Why not?  She's a little harder than Aang, but had they just written Aang as a girl it would have been a copy of the first.  I'm excited for this to come out!!!

EhhhhI guess I'm just afraid they screwed it all up. It would be WAY too easy. I like Aang more than her already it seems from what I've heard about her. I don't really like harder characters. They just.... don't sit right with me. I prefer gentle and yet knows what they're doing. (Although Aang had NO idea what he was doing! XD)

Something for my fellow Avatar fans... it's from the new graphic novel that will serve as a direct sequel to where the epilogue of the series left off: (WARNING: EXTREME SPOILERS BELOW.)
Spoiler: scans from the Avatar the Last Airbender: The Promise
Spoiler:
It makes me sad. I loved Zuko so much when he was a good guy, but if he's going to turn into a bad guy again, I'll just... D:

honestly I feel like everyone in that situation especially the Earth King should've seen the glaring problem with kicking people out of their homes immediately.

I dunno. I at least can get behind an "all new characters" sequel, but I'm not that interest in seeing a continuation of a series that almost completely wrapped everything up perfectly, which can be so hard to do when things like ratings can make a show last so much longer or shorter than it should be.

Only skimmed through that but hinting at doing that in the story kinda proves my point.

yeah, I'm hoping that at the very least the comic doesn't just serve as "Avatar the Last Airbender 1.5" and actually segues everything into the setting of the new show, with the creation of Republic City and such.

I don't think so. Republic City looked like it was built recently in the photos of it, and the architecture doesn't fit in with the architecture from the original series.

well by "creation" I don't necessarily mean the thing instantly crops up, but more like "we designate this place the new capital, Republic City! Yay so everyone come here now, kay."

Korra's only set 70 years after the original series, so if the place is gonna be as big as it was supposed to be in this early picture:

it probably has to start up fairly soon. Even if the architecture is different, you don't generally start humongous cities from 0 to Omghuge in much less than 70 years, you just won't get the population that quick. It's gonna have some form of "link" with the new series anyway, so I just figure that might be it.
