Even in a "magic is just sufficiently advanced science" scenario, the side labeled fantasy will obviously be the higher powered one. So probably fantasy all around.

there are many fantasy settings though where the most "powerful magics" consist of giant fireballs, calling down thunderstorms and mythical beasts like dragons. There aren't many sci-fi settings that don't have spaceships and atomic weaponry.

^ That, pretty much.Akonyl wrote:Depends on the level of fantasy and level of sci fi. There are works in both that feature omnipotent beings. Fantasy generally has more, though.
If gods are in the equation, I'd go fantasy, otherwise I'm gonna go with sci fi.
