I'm currently biased since I'm still stuck in an essay about a play, so I'll vote after I hand it in tomorrow today.

I'm torn between personal experience and picture.  Went with personal experience because it is especially hard to write something like that in the third person.

Personally I always hated essays about pictures ~nya..

personal experience. actually, if i can make up a personal experience it's no problem. poem is pretty bad too, though often you can make stuff up about the intended meaning of the structure.

Personal experience, because it's the most boring and straightforward kind. :P

Why all the poem hate? D: I'd rather do that than anything else there.

Picture. Seriously, if you need to explain a picture, you're using the wrong type of pictures. So, an essay on a picture is either an essay on a stupid picture or too short to be an essay :P
If  ;), :D, ;D, ::), :P, :-X, :o or >:D are attached, that paragraph may not be 100% serious. Seriously.

I've always hated essays on personal experiences since "I went to Paris with my parents, brother, and paternal grandparents. It was either over spring break when I was 5 or over summer break when I was 6. Either way, it was before I started 1st grade. We went to Disney and saw a bunch of cathedrals and some other stuff" is about as detailed as I can remember about anything eventful. :-X

Of course, you should use an exciting event. Or invent (a plausible) one, if you lack one. Nobody can prove that you weren't chased home by a large dog one day... :P

That's pretty much like saying "What do you mean there's more to writing an essay about a story than summarizing it?"
