lawful/chaotic isn't really related to light/dark though, it would be your dark side talking if you were chaotic evil.

I wonder if in real life there can be the possibility of lawful evil since most of the "evil" things are illegal. Maybe some politicians or lawyers...

that's pretty much it, yeah

although iirc, "lawful" in the D&D scale doesn't have to strictly be referring to the laws of society, but can also refer to a self-imposed moral set. Like a cleric that breaks laws because he's following the "law" of his religion, whereas "chaotic" would be more people that just do whatever they want regardless of any law/morality.
