Also, I'd change the absurd lack of plot progression

The closest thing we've gotten to that recently would be the Seance case and the Demon Dog case, and maybe that DB piano case, but it's not the same.

Also, I wish the Bourbon arc had a pace similar to that of the Vermouth arc, especially since it's the longest arc we've had since then. Although the Vermouth arc was pretty long, it's plot progression was a lot faster than the Bourbon arc. Those small hints/sequences at the end of a large number of episodes helped keep up the suspense as well as subtly advance the plot.
As for the Bourbon arc, though, for most of it we've gotten Okiya cameos and not much progress in terms of story. I'll admit that there's been development in other aspects, such as Sato and Takagi's relationship as well as Shinichi and Ran. Still...
We definitely need more cases like the Blue Castle Case and the Then There Were No More Mermaids case. The mystery cases in DC today generally lack that type of adventure and excitement, sadly. The closest thing we've gotten to that recently would be the Seance case and the Demon Dog case, and maybe that DB piano case, but it's not the same.
Also, I definitely miss the old anime soundtrack. Fortunately, the soundtrack in the 600s has been improving. Actually, for that matter the 600s thus far have been very enjoyable, both in terms of manga based cases and AOs.
