Obviously I don't think the format will ever change, but this is meant in theory. I'm a bit undecided how I feel about it since I do tend to like status quo'ed shows (which is probably the easiest way to make a series last for so long), so I'll probably vote later and go with a Pofa option for once.

First option. It would be nice for there to be plot or character development/introduction without there being any actual case. It might allow for certain things that would be too awkward or difficult to use in a case setting.

I think I'd technically say "yes" in the sense I'd love to see one (and I mean literally one file) where you're just waiting for something happen. You have the usual jerks and such, even the characters are ansty. And then...they're leaving and nothing has happened.

I'd be okay with it, since a lot of the time the first file in a set of 3 is nothing but talk then someone dies at the end and the next file is the case. So if no case happened in a file I would be completely fine with it assuming the obvious things like topic, quality, ect. (stuff that effects everything basically).

I'll say yes, because I feel like there's cases where he's like "well, I really just want to put some plot love story in this file, but I feel like I need a case, sooo... , so may as well not bother with the case and get the plot done a little quicker so he can move on to cases he actually cares about. :V

I like this idea.  It would be quite refreshing.

Meh, it's a mystery series.  Not every "case" needs to be murder, and I wouldn't mind if they went back to random puzzles like they used to do for DB cases if they wanted to do a character spotlight, but there needs to be some sort of mystery.  Otherwise you end up with a derailed series like Hayate that forgets what made it popular.  Problem is, Conan has to be in everything, even if he's just going to lie there unconscious.  Makes it harder to put a spotlight on a character that way.

Either way, I'd be content if Gosho just stopped having characters spend 1-3 pages recapping what happened in the case thus far in every chapter after the first one per case.

I'd love to see something like a day in the life of Gin & Vodka, or even the day Kogoro tried to avoid the DBs. Just a file or two, nothing a massive, but a wee change of pace ould be nice.
