Importance of Ran as a character

Why do I get the feeling that some people here referring more to couples than the characters themselves? One can like both Ran and Ai, and it doesn't have any contradiction. Now, if someone thinks that liking Ai also equals liking AiCon equals hating ShinRan equals hating Ran, then that's a bit beyond the characters.

Most of the time it's the same thing. Not all of the time- but I think you'll notice that most AiCons love AiCon while most Ran fans support ShinRan. It may not always be true but they usually support these couples BECAUSE that girl is their favorite character.

I apologize for ranger. He/she/?? doesn't watch as much anime as us and doesn't realize how boring and predictable it has become 95% of the time.

I think School Rumble and parodies are the other 5% btw.

The only way for me to like Ran, is if Gosho put her in a coma where she woke up as a tsundere.
