The season opener this year will get underway at 8:30 PM EDT. The matchup is between the Saints and the Packers, so GET DAT HYPE.

Since this is just the opener, we won't have any other games until Sunday, and the week will conclude on Monday for those a little out of the football loop. Essentially, the scoring period for week 1 is today, Thursday, 9/8/11 to Monday, 9/12/11. There's still time to change them line-ups if you so need to do so.
