To commemorate the 23rd anniversary of B'z, I decided to put together a little something for everyone that hopefully most of you will enjoy, and that is the...
B'z 23rd Anniversary Live Compilation AlbumEssentially, what I have done is create an audio compilation in the vein of a live anniversary album, with thirteen of the band's greatest performances included, drawn from their entire history to date.
I've had this idea for quite some time and figured there was no better time to see compile it than today. After investing quite a bit of time in ripping several B'z DVDs this morning, I got to work on remastering--to the best of my ability--the performances I decided to include. The quality should be consistent from start to finish and took quite a bit of trial and error to complete to my satisfaction, but it is now ready!
This project will actually serve a dual purpose: For too long, everyone has requested more MP3s of B'z live shows that they can listen to without having to resort to the videos themselves, and while there are a few audio rips of the live DVDs out there, the quality is usually quite inconsistent. Since B'z doesn't release live albums, it's basically up to the fans to sort out their own on-the-go audio of their live work if they so wish. Instead of just doing normal rips, I decided to go the extra mile. Some of the older DVDs present some challenges on the audio front, so I went through each track individually, from start to finish, to attain the highest possible quality at no cost to the underlying audio fidelity. It was tough, but I hope that everyone will enjoy it.
As stated, there are thirteen performances included (along with a number of little surprises). No more than one performance was drawn from any one LIVE-GYM, giving as wide a spread as possible.
Now, for some, when they watch concert videos and such, they don't wish to know the setlist ahead of time in order to avoid spoiling any possible surprises along the way. As such, I decided to embrace that mentality and created two versions of this compilation so that everyone can enjoy as they wish: A
normal version and an
unlabeled version. The
normal version is what you would expect: every track is thoroughly tagged and identified individually with no exceptions. The
unlabeled version, on the other hand, is exactly what it sounds like: there is nothing to give away what each song is and each one is labeled generically as simply their track number.
My recommendation: If you're one of those people that likes to enjoy the surprise of a live show, check out the
unlabeled version first, and if it's to your satisfaction, come back and pick up the
normal version if you'd like. My recommendation would be to go with the unlabeled, just because I'm one of those people that likes to avoid "spoilers" whenever possible, but it's up to you!

If you guys listen to this and enjoy the concept and maybe even want another, let me know and I'll see what's what. Maybe we can even vote some in as a community and include them that way; we'll see! For now, enjoy!
