Nobody knew that when he first appeared though.

you don't really know about it for most of the murderers in the series, it's not until they're caught that you learn their intentions, like Numabuchi.

Also they should introduce more minor characters (like Araide) so that they can make us become attached to them and then kill them off :V

I would want a really major plot twist and when it is ended things shouldn't just return to the status quo. I find it annoying when you think something important has happened and then in the next episode everything is back to normal. Also a murder case that is a little out of the ordinary with an interesting motive and some of the background characters' history should be explained more.
