You're thinking of the police call boxes, which were blue at one point. Normal phone booths in the UK are red. If you're thinking of that because of the Tardis, it's a police box. :3

He ran because he probably panicked, but all he had to do was say he was closer than he thought he was, and got lost or something. Then tell her he saw Shinichi run past him or some other excuse for leaving her. Maybe it wouldn't work so much anymore? She does seem to be getting tired of it... He could in theory have even claimed a three way conversation between their phones since "Shinichi" was helping him with the code. Then again I can't help but wonder the whole time if their personal cells would even work in the UK. I know a few years ago it was kind of a pain in the butt when you travel abroad.

My major problem is the fact that the transformation took place in a few seconds where as it was shown in previous episodes that it is supposed to be painful and rather long. It was already bad enough in the manga but the anime made it worse.

Didn't Haibara say in the Murderer, Shinichi Kudo case that the transformation time was getting less and less every time he uses the antidote? Or was that only when it's too close to the last time he used it?

When he took the second one in Murderer, Kudou Shinichi, I believe it occurred fast as well.  He was sitting on the toilet, took it, and then walked out.

Good point. I had forgotten. I guess Puto is right then, it hurts and takes longer only when he goes from being Shinichi to being Conan (and when he doesn't use the very convenient pills...).

I have to admit, as much as this case is iffy for me (and that may not have been in the manga) that moment with the cell phone was great. xD I love how everybody was looking at her.

Don't forget the fact that Haibara keeps improving the antidote's formula (because she'll take one herself eventually, and she can't use the same old pill because the body develops immunity fast), so it's possible that her newest drug works in 10 seconds with minimal pain, doesn't require a cold, and gives out smoke.
