Well just watched 610-613, It felt like watching non-canon stuff, Kogorou scared at the beginning of demon dog on TV and then not that scared from something in reality and acting all rational, I mean he was good, smart, not a clown or drinking, or saying stupid stuff or even made one wrong deduction.


Heiji and Kazuha appearance did not give the expected atmosphere, for me. I do not know whether it was the animation or something else, I do not know how to describe this  . I, usually, get excited when there is a case with Heiji but not this time..

I like this case but I have to agree with the last statement. When I read it, I also felt that Heiji and Kazuha were added more to respect the annual quota than anything else.

The demon dog case seemed like it had a lot of potential, starting with the murder of Kudo Shinichi episode, but slowly it just lost all it's appeal and turned out to be a flat soda.  I really dislike the cases that are about Japanese character - play.

I don't understand/follow the character play, and I feel like it's a Gosho "copout" : he couldn't think of anything and just kind of banked on messing around with the suspect's names.  And, to top it all of, he also included fishing wire -_-  Gosho, you can't do that or you'll create a black hole - only one stupid method a case!


However, episode 614 is awesome, like what everyone else said, it's an old school case for us nostalgia freaks.  And I was about to virtually pimp-slap Ayumi for getting lost again and acting like classic dumb Ayumi but I was in for a surprise that she was totally fine.

Also, the Detective Boys just barging into a random person's villa, god these kids...

I agree with you..

a case involving playing with japanese characters (hiragana, romanji, katakana) is not appealing to foreign viewers..

though i liked the trick used.. It kept me guessing how its done 'til the end..
