But...If the scene in the ep345 does not happen...do you think that Ai is still alive now?! Conan is sleeping so there's no way that he can save Ai,then this Vermouth really hates Ai,then that Calvados is targeting Ai from above,if Ran did not see their pictures at Jodie's apartment, she will not go for that...and if she did not go...Haibara is dead...Ran saves Haibara afterall! Would you just be happy that your favorite character is still alive?! Instead of hating Ran...?
And...its Gosho's work afterall, the case was awesome and Conan almost got to the boss! Very exciting episode...and...
Its not Ran to be killed violently anyway...Vermouth don't have hatred for her...its Ai that time...if Ran is not there, she's probably double dead (Vermouth+Calvados shot)

Then the scene in movie 13 is also stupid... :) there's so many gunshot of Irish but Conan is still Alive...
DeathNote is not true,I have one,and I wrote my name,I wait for my death (so that AiCons can be happy :) but nothings happen to me :(
DeathNote is a good anime too,but...Detective Conan is more realistic (bias :p)
Ran did not have any gun shots because she's lucky girl :) :P

I wanted the scene to be made differently.

Again with "it's Gosho's writing", so what? Does the guy who has a whole town dedicated to his comic book really need to be babied from criticism of one scene from his comic in a thread about criticizing scenes of his comic book? I think he'll be okay.

That's true. As long as people don't blame Gosho for the inconsistencies which are exclusive to the anime adaptation, they can like or dislike what they want.

No sure about the word choice ("inconsistencies") but I suppose.

I believe the term is white knighting (the joke I made earlier is a good example of that).

Takagi: "Who are you?"
Conan: "I'll tell you... in the next life!"
(probably not the exact words)

~She heard gunmen, it's why she left the trunk. She's banking their stupid.

She's just deciding that there's a chance she do more than call the police from the trunk. (Taking the time to call the police, BTW, is already less reckless than most characters with hero complexes would do in that situation in most fiction. But, Ran sucks as a character, so no credit for her!)

~When you're apparently a star sniper, the shock shouldn't last the time it took her to reach Ai and not being able to shoot her through that whole sequence is stupid.

It doesn't need to last that long, it only needs to last long enough for Ran to react to what she sees while on top of the car. Unless the sniper can predict what she's going to do once she's moving (changing Z axis directions while moving down the car) it becomes very hard to hit her. Once Ran stops, Vermouth starts protecting her. It's not at all hard to suspend disbelief that a "star sniper" (whose favorite gun was a hyping shotgun, btw, not a rifle) would miss two shots in that situation.

~"Nitpicking" is a comment you only add because you're lacking a real one. The thread is half "least favorite scenes" so nitpicking is kinda the point. And also, this means complaining about the anime version is valid too.

The anime adaptation played up the gun play in a pretty bad way. I have no problem with complaints about that.

~Wasting more time so you can plan a super jump? Right nothing wrong there. Also if she had the "situational awareness" then she should have known which direction was safe.

The situational awareness comes from the unobstructed view from the top of the car, not the very limited view she'd have from the trunk. If there's a gunman behind the car, popping the trunk and staying there to look around really would have been pointlessly suicidal.

~I think it's been well established their reactions are too inappropriate to gauge how fast she was moving.

Not sure what you mean here. If you mean we can't assume she was moving slowly or quickly just from the reaction shots in the manga, I agree. If you mean the reactions prove Ran was moving slowly, I disagree. It doesn't take long to sub-vocalize sentence fragments.

~Because her and a little girl could be killed, but hey as long as it looks cool... or doesn't.

If Ran does nothing more than wait for the police, she risks someone dying, too. Ran thought the chance she could help outweighed the risk to herself. So what? Shin'ichi doesn't always wait for guaranteed success before acting, he repeatedly does "reckless" hero things, some times outright stupid things, like gloating to culprits who are able to attack him. Bad writing?

~Well given how close everyone was "with emotion" and that Verm too be so invested in them to see the shot girl move from one side to another (but you could give that to warning shots) should be enough and even then keeping the girl from getting away doesn't much help her from not being dead.

It does if the police do scare them off before they can drag her body off of the little girl. Slim chance, I'd agree, but a chance nonetheless.

~Except it isn't, since that was the only case of me mentioning him and that was just that more time should have been used for this which is the fault of several people, but you couldn't think of anything else to say so...

Yeah, calling it a "new level of stupid" was just saying "it could have been executed better".

I think Nyarlgins may need an intervention regarding this Ran obsession. It's getting a little unhealthy.

Even though we're apparently a haven for the "anti-Ran" movement, he still absolutely cannot bring himself to leave. No matter the anguish in his little heart, he can't step away.

Also: Ran needs a haircut.
