Conan movie doesn't need to be necessarily going on with timeline (like appearance of BO on only some of the movies; eventhough movie 13 for me is clearly the best movie among the 14 movies released to date), but there are other story line they can use (like movie 12 with classical concert theme)..

Never animated, that's why I quoted the chapter... bizarre as the premise was, it was actually a kind of dark chapter, especially how Kaito defeats the robot.

How did he do that?

The robot was programmed to be him, with all of his thought processes downloaded into its brain.... only without any particular emotions or empathy, so the opening double-page spread of the chapter is of the robot, dressed as Kaitou Kid, murdering the professor that built it with a completely blank expression. (It's pretty creepy.) In the end, Kaito shows up to fight it, but it thinks so much like him that it's able to pre-empt his movements, and indeed ends up doing everything that Kaito tries to do, but a fraction of a second before him, such as shooting him in the arm (though due to a surprise attack at the start of the battle, Kaito did manage to rip its false skin and clothing off, so at this point it looks kinda like the Terminator, but it still has about half of Kaito's face draped over its mechanical skull. Also creepy.) In the end, Kaito holds his card gun up to his head... and the robot blows its own head apart. (Kaito then clicks the trigger and his gun transpires to be empty.)
