Is it me or did Conan/Shinichi said this catchphrase hardly 2 times????

he hasn't said it much (I can't recall when he has, actually), but it makes sense if it's something Shinichi says, because Conan doesn't exactly want to relate himself to Shinichi more than he has to.

Now that you mention it....he hasn’t used it much and I haven’t noticed this until now. XD. I also agree with the above. I think it probably was a forced catchphrase because Shinichi doesn’t seem like the type to use one. >_>; Even if he’s simply an anime character, blurting out a catchphrase like that is....sort of out of character in a sense. At least that’s my opinion, anyway.

I'll ask a newbie question, even though I don't consider myself a newbie. If this has been answered before, forgive me. What does the phrase "OneTruth Prevails" actually mean?  It doesn't make a good deal of sense in spoken English.  I could see "The Truth Must Prevail", or something like that. I suspect something is lost in translation. It seems to be an example of Japanesespeak, and I suspect there are different meanings and shades of meaning in the Japanese. To the western world, there is just One Truth.  What do you translators and Japanese speakers say?

It basically means "There is only one truth" (Shinjutsu=truth; wa=is; itsumo=only; hitotsu=one). That translation doesn't really make much sense, since it implies that there are several truths. An interesting philosophical point, but it doesn't fit the series.

I'm sure Holmes had the same problem with 'The game's afoot' and 'Elementary, my dear Watson' (noncanonical). The public gets a catchphrase in its head and you can never get rid of it.

As abs. said, the "real truth."

As far as the wording "One Truth Prevails," basically means that the one truth, that is the one real truth, can't be escaped from. The criminals try to leave a fake trail, but the evidence can't be erased, "the real truth will be known." Its inevitable that the truth of their crimes will expose them and justice will triumph/prevail.

Perfect example: Heji presented a theory that implicated the wrong person, but the one real truth behind the case was revealed by Shinichi, thus the truth prevailed (over the deceit)

I suppose it's better than saying,"There are seven Truths. Let's hope one prevails!" That wouldn't exactly draw people to the show, would it?
