AbEgho wrote:I would say a nice way of ending the series would be decreasing the rate at which the manga is published or broadcasting more than one episode a week. That way, sooner or later, the anime and manga would be synchronised, then the anime ending would never be spoiled by the manga.

That is, however, in no way in the interest of the producers. Don't forget that the anime, due to being available on TV (and therefore being basically "free"), earns the producers much less money than the high number of sales they get via the Tankoban and the magazines. As less people would go and by the manga if the anime was available at the same time, it would mean a loss of money. If, however, the manga is always ahead of the anime, they earn two times.

I can't remember where i did heard that there's gonna be 20 movies in total. So that makes the last movie will be in 2017 and let's say anime will end in 2017 as well. I don't expect the ending of the manga before 2015. So there's still much time. Later you start Detective Conan better it gets : )

Apparently, an official Japanese poll was made where men and women in the 20-30 years old range were asked the following question : Which manga series would you like to go on forever ?

Men :
1.  KOCHI KAME 『ã

The main reasons given by the voters were : "the readers woud be sad if Conan turned back into Shinichi" ""they don't want to imagine the end of a manga they've known since their childhood" "even as adults, they still appreciate the story" "they would like the series to become like Sazae-san or Doraemon".

This just goes to show that there is still a relatively strong demand for Conan, thus there's no way it's just going to end like that, it might even become a franchise like Doraemon and go on "forever".

The people asked obviously forgot that there was a plot that needed resolving.

I hope Gosho resume the story arc, it's almost been at least half a year, or maybe a year has passed since last story arc story.

Or they just don't care about the plot.

That's why he should resolve this arc, but still have him randomly change into Conan.  Or have flashbacks or something.  I want my cake and eat it too!

The Red Shirt Case was about half a year ago, relax.

And as for the manga well...

Spoiler: manga spoilers
If you are talking about the manga, please don't crush anime viewers' dreams like that.

this doesn't make sense for like 8 different reasons

also that poll is more proof that like half the god damn world wears nostalgia goggles (not so much for the answers as much as the existance of the poll in the first place)

I just mean I want the arc to end, but I don't want Conan to end.

I'd like to see the plot resolved... but y'know, Shinichi's probably still going to be a detective after he goes back to being Shinichi. There's still endless case potential with an adult detective, just maybe he has different difficulties, like juggling making it to dates with Ran and tripping over bodies. A stood-up Ran: more dangerous than Gin.

This.
I wouldn't mind Conan going on after the plot being resolved but it needs resolved better sooner than later.

If the main conflict/s, that's been established since the very first episode is done with, it really feels like it should be over. And I'm not usually a fan of huge gaps between the end of the conflict/s and the ending.

Maybe if there was just the occasional story Gosho writes between chapters of whatever he will write afterwards (assuming he isn't going to retire as soon as Conan's done), or something, that would be far better.
