you fail to realize that Ai will be sent to jail just like all BO members.

In Gosho's "disney" anime in which every protogonist has a soulmate, I highly doubt it would happen. If Gosho isn't going to kill Haibara, he isn't going to send her to jail either.

"It's fun and all, the B.O. is gone, but sorry to break it to you, we need to take Haibara to jail with them" that would blow the ending completely, at least to me.
plus, I if that would be the case, Conan will need to help her. if he doesn't then he is a jerk.
