The over-the-top-ness of the movies is something I've come to expect, so I'm cool with it. I mean, jumping a gap between two skyscrapers in a car while riding an explosion is pretty awesome.

No qualms with that, but the bullet dodging in the last two movies really annoyed me. Because it makes no sense for Conan to be able to do that.

It's my understanding that machine guns aren't built for accuracy, they're built to be spammy. In trench warfare, they were effective against waves of invading troops, since you just spammed bullets everywhere and you were sure to hit somebody. Conan's a very small and rapidly moving target, so he'd be harder to hit with a weapon like that. And I don't think he was dodging the bullets that the leader was firing at the end of M14, I think he was just deliberately toying with Conan and dragging it out, because bastards like to do that.

That may be true, but chances are he would still have been hit eventually what with all the flak he was getting. Yet he was laughin in the face of death, when his survival depended on chance and chance alone.

That's true of machine guns 100 years ago, but assault rifles today (not the same as machine guns to be sure) can be pretty accurate.

The uneasy consciousness, which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments' and 'immortal deeds,' death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as though they had never been."

Even SMG's can be aim'ed well enough to shoot moving targets, and if you're a terrorist group trying to hijack a a blimp full of cops with SMGs as your primary weapons you may want to be good at aiming them.

Spoiler:
I recall Ran dodging a bullet. The only bullets fired at Conan were a couple of sniper bullets from Chianti, which Irish blocked, and the machine guns of the helicopter, which, to be fair, they thought they were aiming at a taller target and in any case didn't look like they were being aimed particularly cautiously.

Even if that were a legitimate argument:
1. They thought they were aiming for someone taller.
2. It was on a helicopter unstable, moving around a building.
3. BO is trained by the A-Team.

Finally I managed to watch the movie. Well... how should I begin.

I think it was pretty similar to movie 13.The drawings and graphic were fantastic!

Story: Although it wasn't something grandiose, I still find it okay for a movie. This is teh first movie where I really liked when Kid was on the scene. I'm not much of a Kaito fan (I don't like him in DC, in Magic Kaito he is way cooler), but in this movie he truly shined and I laughed many times when he and Coann did something together. That almost kiss-scene was hilarious too.
Ai-chan got a bitch-slap, I still don't get it why they put this in the movie. @_@
The Detective Boys were unusually okay, and even funny!

When there were these scenes when they looked for the bomb, I thought they could make a game based on this movie. I almost felt like I was watching a video game demo. In high quality of course.

Heiji was great too <3, that kid with him was a bit annoying, but oh well.

The ending theme was not the greatest ones, I'd say it is the weakest besides Happy birthday from movie 1.

Bad things: Superhuman Conan, and the usual things which would never-ever happen in DC. But afer so many years I just get used to them.

I think everyone is forgetting how Ran wounderfully doged a sniper bulllet in the vermouth arc when she tried to rescue Ai... so characture doging bullete isn't anything special in DC

Still 1 bullet vs a couple hundred bullets is a big difference.
