Abs. and kkslider are both correct here -- "Tomorrow will be our final step of production. I'm going to go visit the staff in charge of the finishing touches and ask them to give it their best. Only 6 days till completion."

For those of you who assumed that the movie should be already completed for months, no, that's not how annual digital movie productions work. The after recordings and the digital drawings themselves may be done, but putting them together and ensure they're in a presentable theatrical format will not be finished until nearing the release date.

A earthquake can create an avalance but not visa versa.

D: Yeah, I was wondering about that one.  After checking the trailers on the website, it seems that they cut out the part with the huge wave crashing down and Ran screaming.  I don't know if this means it will be removed from the movie though... (Kinda hoping it isn't.  It looks epic.)  Well, if they do cut it out, at least I won't have to listen to Ran break the sound barrier with her screams.

Sorry, totally off topic, but I absolutely love your sig Mystery Otaku!!!!
Ok, back on topic, I really like that scene too!  I'm so excited for the movie.  But....I guess I'll have to wait until October.  :(

Everyone... Keep talking... Were almost at page 50... ;D
Sherlock Holmes - When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?

Conan Edogawa - A Detective who uses his deductive powers  to corner a suspect and then does nothing to stop that suspect from committing suicide...is NO better than a murderer himself.

Who knows. Maybe in October (that is when the DVD is usually released, right?) the DVD will include the scene. Though, I highly doubt it.

Back on topic:
20 Days left!!  Now that I look at it, they're still going to have to blow up the dam, so the flood will probably still be there.  They might have just cut it out of the commercials so that people wouldn't complain or something.

I don't know about that, Mystery Otaku... I think it would still really scar the viewers. Especially since a lot of young kids watch it now, and for them, it's just traumatizing what's been happening in Japan. I think that there only option here is to cut it out of the theatrical release, and have it in the DVD release.

Well the flood seems like it's pretty important to the plot, so it's unlikely that they could cut it out. Watching news clips too, what one of the relief workers said was that kids are resilient, and they just want things to go back to normal. And it's true, kids understand things on a different level from adults. So it would be scary for them yes, but I wouldn't go so far as traumatizing and it would probably be scary for them anyway. Heck, they might even think, "Conan had to deal with this too! He's so cool!"

You know if young kids are A-OK with constant murder, I don't think that would scar them.

As other members have said, a few questions remain : can they afford to cut out these scenes from the movie (in terms of coherence) ? If they can, will they do it ? And if so, will they put them back in the DVD and Blue-ray versions (the version we will be seeing in october/november) ? We'll just have to wait and see.
