Internet Explorer can be quiet useless, you may wish to try Chrome or Firefox.

My mom seems to think anything and everything I download will give the computer a virus.
So, lets say I get firefox and two years later I get a virus..
"I told you not to download things!!!!!!!!!"

You're MUCH more in danger of getting a virus using IE than any other browser, just saying

You'll probably have to show her some research or something like that that shows the exposure to viruses or being hacked based on browsers... from what I've heard, Google Chrome is great for that, although I use my beloved Mozilla Firefox
