I know that this opinion of mind is going to be disliked but I'm still going to say it. I was actually relieved when Kazuha confessed and Heiji didn't hear it. This is because it would have been wasted since there was no more time left to really elaborate the new development in this pairing due to it being the end of the case. I mean, do we really want a confession when there's no telling when there will be any new developments in their relationship. I know I've read where people have been complaining about this kind of thing with Satou and Takagi so I don't think I'm the only person who may have this kind of opinion.

Gosho Aoyama will probably spin out that romance for as long as possible considering how many almost confession scenes there have been. Although Ran and Shinichi have made some progress.
