Translators are notorious for being unreliable.  I try not to use them whenever possible. 

"Amazing" is the word I used for how my friend felt about Italy.  It means wonderful, fantastic, or very very good.  So in short, she loved it.  So... the positive. 

And you shouldn't be so hard on your country.  All countries have their problems, it's not just Italy.
